I got this idea for a map while watching my brother play Onimusha 3. You play as a samurai or warrior from ancient fuedal japan and demonic beings have arisen and you must fight to destroy them. Please tell me any ideas or feedback about this idea.

it sounds alright, but you would need to spice it up heaps. try putting in some combat moves or something....

It seems like there's an uprising amount of Samurai RPGs recently...

In order to add variation from the others, I suggest you use a new 'combo' system, where you have to chain combinations of beacon pressing (or dropship dropping, whatever system you prefer) in order to perform special moves and such. A fighting/RPG. Sounds like a good idea.

Samurai lamo.gif
give a good story line.
use a combat sytem with combos [ just use simple, like beacons. ]
use mod terrain.
Make it Tough. [ Tired of Crack Job RpG's. ]

Yea well alot of people making rpgs based on anime or other cartoons but you want to make it so it separates itself from the rest of them like a good combat, battles, terrain, and some other things i could go on about but good luck on it sounds like it goanna be good.

How exactly would you make the Beacon/Combo system? Bring a unit to beacons in a certain order and use a certain combo?
There was a topic on something like this earlier, and we couldn't figure out how to come up with a system that didn't have 50+ triggers per combo. If it's not much to ask, I'd like to know how you planned on doing it.

Well the way I'm thinking of doing it is having three beacons and having 3 [or 1 or 2] units named: 'Combo Move1' 'Combo Move2' and etc.. and the combo attack you do depends on which beacon each numbered unit is on.

Well thats my interperation of the 'Beacon Combo System'.
If the one you 'others' were talking about is different (and probably is) then plz helpsmilie.gif
and tell me what you meant.

Your way could probably be done easier, but has less combinations.

The system we were thinking of is 1 unit and 4 beacons around it. Bring the unit to the beacons in a corresponding order to cast the spell (Much like some cartoons, where they have to do certain hand/body movements to perform an attack).

hmm....that'll probably work fairly well and would save more space (with having one guy) I'll probably use it.
Thanks smile.gif

ADDITION:
Ok, I'm in a but of a rut helpsmilie.gif. Here is the problem: as soon as the game begins, it goes into battle (and it isn't supposed to).
I'll place the triggers that I have.

Trigger 1:
Players: Sourestu (Human Player)
Conditions: Always
Actions: Center location labeled 'battle square' on 'lSouretsu' owned by Player 1 at 'anywhere'. Comment 'Center battle square'

Trigger 2:
Players: Souretsu
Conditions: Demon Army brings at most 1 Wild Wolf to 'Battle Square', Sourestu brings exactly 1 Souretsu to 'battle square'
Actions: Remove all Wild wolf at battle square for Demon Army.
Display for current player: Battle!!!
Center view for current player at 'spawn guy'
Center location labeled 'Remove during battle, spawn after' on Souretsu own by player 1 at Battle Square
Remove all Souretsu for Player 1 at 'Battle Square'
Create 1 Souretsu at 'spawn guy' for player 1. apply properties (invincible)
Create 1 Wild wolf at 'create enemy' for Player 8 '' ''
Comment: Enter Battle with wild wolf.

Hopefully you can find my problem.

By the way, I have 3 Wild wolves (zerglings) patrolling on the path the hero starts on but he is out of the way of any patrol lines.

Try - (Conditions: Demon Army brings at least 1.)

I tried that and...........it still doesn't work. It doesn't go into battle at the start but then it doesn't at all. Oh well...back to the drawing board.

ADDITION:
Hooray I fixed it. Kept Slayers' change (thanks) and I set it to 'Preserve Trigger' for centering the battle square on the player. smile.gif smile.gif

This idea has already been done. They suck massively though, but still already been done. If you could make a fun one with good storyline, combat moves etc., then you'd get lots of players.
