i was deleting strings on my map that werent in use and i accidently deleted a couple active strings, now my sounds manager wont open! what do i do!!!

Your Sound Manager won't open? I don't think deleting strings would cause such a problem...
I sure hope you saved a backup.
Sounds like your having a computer problem not a string problem
If the string pointed to in the WAV section doesn't exist, it could cause a problem. Someone knowledgable about the CHK format should be able to help you if you post the map.
my computer has also been having problems latley... extreme lag, pop-ups and spyware getting by my firewall, ad-aware isnt picking anything up on a spyware check my volume devices were disabled for sum odd reason.... this week just

ing sucks right now!

oh and i didnt save a backup becuz i thought it wouldnt do anything wrong becuz ive done this before and it worked...
ADDITION:
ok well i just downloaded starforge and i looked over the sound manager and it found a sound that was unregistered, wut do i do now?

If you don't mind using Starforge for the rest of your map, you don't need to do anything. If you want to use SCXE/SE at all, you should probabaly post the map because someone needs to tweak your WAV section.
ok. well for your computer I Sajest that you download a program called Spy Sweeper, its worth buying if you cant find an illegal version.
the lag problem, depends on how much ram you have, StarForge taks alot of ram. also the type of OS if its XP you should only have about 32-37 programs running when you press contol-alt-delete, if you have more quit all the ones you don't reqinise, but be careful not to quit any system running apps, look the name up in google if your unsure.
allso something you can do that might clear up some ram...
Windows XP: go to C:\Documents and Settings\*YOUR USER*\Local Settings
in there delete all the fils in the History folder, Temporary internet files folder, then the temp folder.
then fun spy sweeper of ad-aware and virus if you've got it, again and restart..
that should do it. for you
and your sound manager, do a search on google and look for a way to download or get a friends to send you the ones you deleted and on the net it should tell you where they are located, just put em back...
^_^
yea, i really like spy sweeper but it costs, so what ever you want i guess just dont use ad-aware, it sucks.
i compared a few of then a while ago and no matter when other scanner i used ad-aware just didnt find em all
I thought I made it clear that this has NOTHING to do with his computer. It's a problem with the map.
