I doubt any of you here got the chance to experience this game as much as I did back in the day (2000-2004). But I can tell you Tribes 1 has brought me memories I will cherish for a long time to come. The ability to fly added an element never before seen in any FPS, and even Tribes 2 and current Tribes: Vengeance will never live up to Tribes 1 superiority.

I would like to show you guys a list of Tribes Movies that have been around for awhile that reflect what Tribes is and why its so damn good. The community, the talent, everything about Tribes was great and I'm glad I was apart of it for as long as I was... Now onto the movies:

1. Best of the Best - Download (146 MB)
2. Best of the Best 2 - Download (128 MB)
3. Legacy - Download (436 MB)
4. Perro 3 - Download (109 MB)

(There's a lot more movies, those are just my favorites)

I encourage anyone with High Speed connection to watch a couple of these Tribes Movies. You'll need the DivX and XivD codecs to view most of them:

DivX - http://www.divxmovies.com/codec/
XviD - http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/

I also made my own movie years ago... If I can find it on someones FTP I'll post it, the site that I know it's on is currently down due to maintainence.

Anyways, watch these movies guys and let me know what you think of Tribes 1 and the community that encompassed it.

I still have Tribes 1 for the PS2, I don't have the heart to sell it. I spent many hours playing it online. That has to be the BEST game for PS2 in my opinion.

No. They never remade Tribes 1 for PS2. Aerial Assault is a completely different game.

I don't have time to check every major gaming site but IGN gave it a 9.3/10 which is pretty good I guess.

If you think reviews are what makes a game, you are completely mistaken. It all depends on personal opinion, really. I happen to think Time Splitters: Future Perfect is one of the best shooters of all time. Well, Gamespot gave it a 7.6. Just because the reviewers at Gamespot are paid, does it mean that their opinion is more right than mine? Sometimes you have to decide for yourself. That reviewer is a human being as well, and there maybe things that he likes and others that he hates. So there really is no "the review". Instead, it's better to say either you liked it or hated it or in the case with KiLLeR, LOVED it.

I agree 100%... The reason why this game appeals to me so much is because it's different from any other FPS around. Instead of being held to the ground with only jumping and strafing, you have the ability of free movement in the air in any which direction. This type of movement allows for greater speeds and more fast paced environments. It also allows you to get some amazing shots not just from a certain height level but from any direction at any angle at any given point.

However, most people tend to dislike this game because they don't understand how it works, that and the learning curve for it is intensely steep. If one of you were to try the game out for the first time today I almost guarentee you'd get too frustrated and would just quit. The concept with Tribes is you must be airborne all the time to prevent getting hit from incoming enemies above.

*Talking from my expieriance from PS2 tribes, which could be different.

But I agree with you. Most of the time when you kill someone it's cause the energy on their jet pack ran out, so you can just aim NEAR them, and the splash will take them out. If their in the air its 20X harder to hit them. You have to learn to manage your energy, like not flying when you don't have to ect, or else you'll be grounded getting pegged by Spinfusors (If they're in that one).

Either that or get an energy pack happy.gif.

Yeah if you're going head to head with someone with equal skill and your jetpack runs out first, you better hope & pray for a miracle... Like a lucky MA (Mid-Air) Shot which I have done countless times in the past smile.gif
