Texas Holdem for life.

Collectable Trading Card games cost too much money. I think Hearts is the most widly known and played game after poker and it's variants.

TCG's are lame.

TCGs are okay cuz you can have customization and strategy, but like other card games, most of it's based on luck...

I still like playing with Yu Gi Oh and Magic the Gathering, cuz it's fun to use strategies but it's just a waste of money to buy them. I got all my Magic Cards for free lol...

well im big on mtg. I go to tournys and what not. I think its fun. And well its not really a waste of money. When you buy a pack or box or what ever. Sometime you get rly good cards. Take them to a tourny with you and people will buy them. Espessaly the old cards from beta and alpha

That's exactly what I don't like about it. Better cards can win games (I know you have to balance the deck and make things that will support eachother, but not everyone has 4 of that super good card). $20 for a deck of cards, of which many I won't intend to use... no thanks.

Most likely Texas Hold 'em. Although I love Hearts... happy.gif

Magic is probally the most played TCG though.

IMO, TCGs come down to "who has the most money to waste on cards" wins.

Ok, Hearts is really simple, and really fun - the only disadvantage is that you have to have four people to play.

At first, everyone get 1/4 of the cards (52/4=13 cards each).
Everyone sit around a table of something, so that everyone will have one person at their left and one at their right.

Now, you need to choose three cards you want to get rid of - the 'worst' cards are Black Spade Queen, than all the Hearts from highest to lowest.
After you choose three cards, without showing them to the other people, you pass them to the person on the left (at the same time the others will all do the same and you'll recieve three new crappy cards from the guy on your right).

Than the game starts with the person who had Club 2, he puts the card on the desk and the guy on his left have to put a card of the same type - so that he has to put something Club, than the one to his right, and the last guy.
If one of them doesn't have the type (which is in this case Club) he can put whatever he wants.
After all four put the cards, the one who put the card with the highest value of the original type recieves all the points of those cards and puts them aside.

Every Heart card gives you 1 point, and the Spade Queen gives 13 points, the goal is to be the one with the least points when one of the four reached 100 or more points.

After that, the guy who took the cards puts the next card, and the game goes on till everyone are out of cards - than you write down all the point in a table and do the next round, and so on till a round is over and someone has 100 or more points.

Another rule is that if someone took all the Hearts and the Spade Queen in a round, he doesn't get any points and all the rest get 26 points each.

Great game, but not as good as Durak, or Poker (did I spell it right?).

Erm, you combined CCG's with normal card games ... I dont think you should have. CCG's are way different in the way that they don't work off the same set of cards (1,2,3,Jack,Queen,etc...). They work off of sets within the card game.

Of ALL CCG's, Magic the Gathering will always be #1, and will always be the best. I've been playing it for around 10 years now, and it only gets better with each new set. I suggest searching for local draft tournaments. Draft tournaments are the most fun to play in, and you could end up going home with literally hundreds of cards after spending only a few dollars.

Yugioh? LOTR? Pokemon? Trends/fads. They don't last because ... they suck.

Of all the normal card games (UNO, Poker, Texas Holdum) I wouldn't know what is best. I don't play them. But the fact that Holdum is the most popular leads me to believe that it requires the most strategy and is the best of them.

Side note, you can play MTG online for free. There are tons of sites that host servers/irc channels where people can setup games and then connect to play over Magic Workstation or Magic Apprentice (both free magic programs). I don't suggest playing on the official Magic online, you can't get your cards unless you have the full set, and even then all you can do is get 1 of every card and lose them online. It's a huge ripoff unless you play exclussively online or have a lot of money.

Lol all those gay TCG's remind me of some nerds at school who sit in the corner and play them at lunch. They are so lame.

...and you watch them for how long devilesk? Each to their own, there's no reason to make fun of them.

Actually, you're allowed to choose which cards you want to get rid of. I for one like to keep the Queen, because it's fun to nail people with it. Unless I'm at risk of losing I'll keep it (or I have a lack of spades). If your whole hand is spades, and you get rid of the Queen you're mental.

Not to mention giving a player nice cards might make them think next round (the 2 players giving nice cards to eachother have a better chance of winning than the players destroying eachother).

Taking control (all hearts) is badass. I love doing that with the right cards.

QUOTE
Normally, each player scores penalty points for cards in the tricks which they won. Each heart scores one point, and the queen of spades scores 13 points. However, if you manage to win all the scoring cards (which is known as a slam or shooting the moon), your score is reduced by 26 points, or you may choose instead to have all other players' scores increased by 26 points.

That site rocks. Check out the rest if you're interested in card games.

No, if you saw them you would think they are idiots, plus they play crappy TCG's and bring their gameboys to school just asking for them to get stolen.

What you just said there, makes you lamer than them. Should I leave my mp3 player at home because it could get stolen? Hell no.
