I have posted this because I am fearful of it's possible spreading. Also, I have posted it in this thread because I thought it was the most appropiate thread to place it in.
Now, this is probably the first time in the history of SEN that someone has made post about warning about another's map instead of promoting one, and I realize I may get criticism and possible suspension for doing such a thread. But I feel it is my duty to protect Starcraft from something so lacking, yet somehow is slowly becoming "popular". Maybe I'm just crazy and the average player will wise up and stop hosting this lacking map. But for some reason I still post this.
The map is called "Computer Chip RPG". The objective is to protect the computer (or giant motherboard chip with tons of bytes, supply depos, and other such things) from virus attacks (another player) for 45 minutes.
Here are the problems:
1) It's not even an RPG, or even close to the unwritten RPG guideline (unlike other RPGs that are actually AAGs). It is more like a defense of such. (a horrible one to be sure)2) The heros barely even know what they're doing. The mother board chip is too big and too much loaded with supply depos and bytes (civilians) to find your way around. 3) The force name known as "Motherboard"(1 player) doesn't even control the motherboard! All it controls is an outward firewall (warp gates stacked), 14 goliaths, and a few siege tanks. The computer, on the other hand, controls the whole motherboard just standing around and bytes running around everywhere.4) After about 10 minutes, since the CPU at the top left keeps spewing bytes, you cannot create units and it gets extremely laggy.
5) The "evil virus"(1 player) gets no tips whatsoever on how to play, can easily be rushed, and could probably win just by sending only infested terrans (which do 9999 dmg, easily killing heros 1 hit).6) The worst offense is that, even though it is extremely lacking in gameplay, and has all 5 other problems which destroy its respectability as a map, there are people who host it
after playing it.
I wish to give this warning because we do not need such a map. I do not wish to harm the creator with this, but I do wish for him (if he/she is reading this) to use this as an experience to watch out for bugs, glitches, and other problems which can destroy a map. I hope this is the creator's first map, for I know that the first map is always the hardest to make.
Sigh, it is hard to stop a map but not harm the person behind the screen who created it.

Better luck next time right?
