I have a 128x96 map, but I've decided that it's sort of small as it is and would like to add some space to the map.
I attempted to do this in ScmDraft by using the resize map tool, and changed the dimensions from 128x96 to 128x128, but I can't figure out a way to add equal space on the top and the bottom (right now, it only adds to the bottom, and since the map is symmetrical, I would have to totally remake the map, which is an endeaver that I am not willing to undertake).
Is there any possible way I can do this, or am I stuck with the amount of usable space I have now?
You could make it 192x128 to add space at both sides.
Another way to do it is to open the map in Starforge and copy all the terrain into a brush. Then save the brush, open a new map and copy the brush. Then only downside to this method is that is doesn't transfer doodads/sprites/units.
It doesn't add space to the sides because the horizontal lenght is still 128. It only added to the bottom because you increased vertical lenght from 96 to 128.
by sides i meant both top and bottom ;O
so i use starforge to save the whole map as a brush, create a new 128x128 map, then use the brush to put the map in the middle of it?
how do i use starforge to save the whole map as a brush?

Thats what I said. You increase horizontal lenght from 128 to 192 and vertical lenght from 96 to 128.
To create a brush in Starforge simply open the map and select Terrain Layer. Then select the entire map, every single tile. After you have selected the entire map, right click and a small menu should appear. Select Create Brush and save it.
Then open a brand new map with the size the you would prefer, load the brush, select it and just place it in whichever place you want, be it top left, middle bottom just wherever you would like to place it.
ok i did the brush thing and it worked, but im having some problems editing it later on
when i open it with staredit and try to edit the terrain to finish up the map, the terrain wont place. i click the mouse button and everything stays the same.
is there a way past this problem? (i want to keep using staredit to edit the rest of the terrain because i like the staredit interface more than the starforge one, and even when i try to edit the terrain in starforge its more difficult than it is for me in staredit)
Use SCMDraft then, it has as interface very similar to SCXE.
i get the same problem when trying to place isometrical terrain.
before i edit the map in starforge, i am able to place isometric terrain, but after wards, the isometric terrain does not work.
is there a way to control where the space created by the resize tool on scmdraft is placed? im trying to add 16 grids upward and 16 grids downward, and when i use the resize tool it always adds 32 grids downward.
Ya the brush is square tiles, as opposed to the flow of normal terrain. My suggestion would be to place the terrain that surrounds the brush first, then paste it in. Because then the sides of it will be isometrical. Other than that there isn't really a good way to blend isometric and tiles.
