Ok, well I've been doing extensive looks at Ipod Minis because I was going to buy one at first. I looked at the reviews and saw that many are having problems and whatnot. So i decided to look at an IPod like thing from Creative. It is exactly like an IPod with more features and it looks better. Its a Zen Micro made by Creative Labs. The thing is censored.gif in hot.

The Zen Micro has gotten better reviews, has a radio, a microphone, holds more songs, can be used to store data files as well as music, and is a fully touch thing with no buttons. The headphones are better and the batterys last longer than that crappy ipod mini's. you can also take the battery out and buy new ones instead of paying Apple 250$ for a replacement. So basically, this thing owns ipod mini's and has amazing features with a lot of different play modes. you can also syncronize it with Microsoft Outlook for your appointments and contacts and things like that! After buying the product I am thoroughly pleased and i've had many experiences with friends Ipods.

i dont think the software is required to use it though. i had an old creative thing and i hadnt installed the software and it still worked. but maybe mac users should stick with ipods because its the only thing they can use.

20gb iPod > Zen, yours is also rather clunky compared to the mini. 40gb rocks even more. If it were flash memory, it would be impressive, but I don't think it is. Even if it were, the shuffle would rock it's socks off.

My friend has a zentouch.

you can get 20 and 40 gb zen nomads which would own ipods templar. and what do you mean clunky? it is a lot smaller and lighter than a mini.

whats flash memory too?

You know, not a Hard Drive that can break easily. Per GB iPod > not to mention only one of your zens have a USB.

The battery life on an iPod Mini is at least 8 hours, if not 12+. And it's 99 dollars to replace your battery, not 250 you idiot. If it was, then you would just buy a new one. The cost is a bit steep, but the quality is good. I suppose you're going take other people's words, reviews don't mean anything.

Haha, coincidencially, someone was saying their gonna get an Ipod. So I'm like, "Hey, check out this thing called Zen first!"

Cool.

Having more than 1gb is pointless. There's no way songs can get more than 5mb. Like how many songs do you listen to?

I have an RCA Lyra MP3 player that has 128mb and it works great, because I can play the songs I want on it. And with all the songs(not even using 3/4 of the space), it takes like at least a half an hour to cycle through(I don't know how long exactly it takes), and there's no way I'm listening to songs from my mp3 player for more than an hour.

Mainly, it's preference. If you want to blow your money on some 20gb waste, then go ahead.

You could duct tape a hard drive to your back, hold a car battery, then duct tape speakers to your head, and have like 200 gigs of mp3 space, and 3000 watts of power so.

I need to try that.

Puts down duct tape... What??

Still, I don't understand what's so good about a piece of hardware where the length of the songs exceeds the length of battery power it can use.

On top of that, someone said something about buying extremely expeensive batteries, when I'm using one AAA battery, rechargable, and lasts pretty good for the quality of the player.

Dk, I know some extremely musical people. Like my brother is tortured by his 1000 song ipod.

I mean, im fine with 1000 songs myself, because i like alot of music, but not very spread out. But some people...

Not everyone is like you!

You sir are a perfect fit for an iPod shuffle =P (seriously, the price of the shuffle compared to mp3 players I see in magazines is disgusting).

Compared to the prices of 128 sticks, iPods are tonnes better. Moving around large files, audio books, and having music for your every mood, that won't repeate every day. I don't know about you, but I can't stand listening to the same song over and over, it kills it for me. I didn't pay full price for my iPod (I knew people who could get me a great discount) and in the end it's just about the most entertaining peice of equipment I own. It doubles as a personal organizer of sorts.

I'm not one to toss around money lightly, I put tonnes of research into everything before I buy it, so that I've always got exactly what I need.

If you're fine with what you've got that's cool, but I love my iPod so don't tell me I wasted my money =-O
