About a year ago, I started work on a Stargate RPG. I hate the Stargate map that is out there (some dumb Diplomacy/planet conquering game) because it is really unbalanced and riddled with cheats.
What I have so far:
*Play as SG-1. Every character is a Ghost. (Teal'c is Infested Duran - I couldn't resist!)
*Unbalanced upgrading system based off of Kills and Razings
*6 'Planets' to visit (Earth, A Goa'uld Mothership, none others so far)
*Stargate system using Protoss Warp Gate with some nice effects (triggers are working; maybe they need spicing up)
I REALLY need someone to write up a plot... I don't want to steal an episode's plot, and I don't have enough imagination for my own. It should involve 6 locations (2 are already taken) accessible via the Stargate. I need enemies! All I have right now are Jaffa (Hydras) and Kull Warriors/Anubis'' Super Soldiers (Zealots). I had the motivation to start the map and work out the Stargate system, but I need help to finish! GIVE ME IDEAS!
An unbalanced system based on kills and razing?
It isn't balanced because I haven't finished it. I need more help with:
*Enemies, and the naming thereof
*Putting them in order by strength so that the last area has the enemies that give the most Kills and Razings
*How many minerals for upgrades to award for each amount of Kills and Razings
*How much damage to make ghost weapons
Basically, I have the Stargate triggers done and nothing else. I need ideas to flesh out the scenario so that I can get in to testing and balancing.
A few enemies:
-Replicators
-NID agents
-the Ashen (okay, only in a couple of episodes, but it would be nice to see more of them)
Though, it might be more interesting if you had some sort of new enemy.
I would be interested in helping more with this project, but unfortunately it is Broodwar, so I'll never get to see it anyway.
Yeah. Unfortunately, to convert it to work in regular StarCraft would take more time than I'm willing to spend. I would have to replace all of the Stargates, fix 25 or more triggers, remove 2 of the main characters, and so on. But hey, you can buy a StarCraft Battle Chest for nearly $20. Try stores like EB Games or go to Blizzard's website. It doesn't take much.
