Well, if someone put a siege tank and some gollies in the center, he can take all naturals. Maybe move the bases a bit farther apart.

No. thats the whole point of the map~. Btw, you can expand other places than just your natural. And its not like other races cant take the middle, or prevent it from being taken.

I like the "matrix-style" of the map. Gameplay and balancing wise..I don't know. I would say it is a terran map right now, although it may be quite a cheese map for all races with the small distances, too. I would prefer if there were real obstacles between the minerals and the middle, as it is possible to cheat past those minerals with units and you could do some unfair rushes. The mineral placement in the main needs work, too. @5 minerals are really ugly T_T

Middle terrain is unbuildable, so it doesnt matter if a peon hops it to build stuff.

a probe could still build gate somewhere. Or fighting units like zerglings hop past the mins. imagine a 9poolrush on an airmap...

ADDITION:
lol I just tried to do it with zerg (burrowd lings) I needed 2 troups to get 3 lings past the first wall. so the risk is not that big. you would just have to scout for some sliding probes that build stuff, attack units won't be a problem.
