CounterStrike-Elimination

Players: 8
Teams: 4 teams of 2

Gameplay: A Paintball type game. Players each will get 1 unit (ghost) with which they will use to kill the other players unit (ghost). When all foes are eliminated your unit will be removed and you will respawn for another round. The first team to 50 wins. I believe two teams can ally for 4v4 fun? w00t.gif

Erm, is it much like snipers?

Anyway, if u want it to be real, use diffrent units like marines or tanks or vultures, or maybe even hydra's. If u can balance it out well, U will have more options and the fun will ''increase'' or w/e.

Yes, it is like snipers, paintball whatever. I have thought about using different units. But that means I would have to alter alot of stuff and it wouldn't be like what I want it to be. I have seen a snipers, paintball game where you coud pick your units. It was just plain stupid. It wasnt balanced at all (like most of the games today, even though people still want to play them...cheating noobs) You could get a tank with seige mode... on a snipers game. Stupid when done incorrectly.

I might add a bonus if you get a certain number of kills or don't die.

Well maybe you could spoof the map a bit with cool special effects, or a bullet system or something special when you die/kill someone. And yes, maybe a forum of bonussus. There are many maps like these out there.

I know what you mean. Just like it is there is hardly any action to it. To add anything extra I will need to download X-Tra Editor cuz it's my favorite with many options and my map uses all 8 players, I will need the 12th player. I have planned on making the units health 2 and instead of just getting 1 unit you would get 2 or more so there would be alot of gunfire. Any ideas would be helpful.

ADDITION:
Ok, I added an effect when you die. What is it? Download it and find out.

Sniper-type maps are definitely affected by maphacks, so you might want to add an anti-hack in there.

Also, you'll want to try and give it as much of its own "feel" as you can, to distinguish it from Sniper maps. Perhaps, in addition to making it "locks only", give everyone free infinite cloaking and a scanner with finite energy that refills periodically, so that in addition to having to aim, you also have a simulation of scope work?

You did this with the normal editor? Well, thats acutally quite ...different. Anyways, if you're gunna get editors, might as well download Starforge as witht eh SXCE. SF allows you to put not just 1-8 and 12 but a lot more.. and the triggers are text so you can copy and paste once you get the hang of it. It's acutally a lot mroe useful than sxce.

Well, if you bother to get StarForge, why not get SCMDraft? The trigger editor is abit different, but everything else is pretty nice w00t.gif . Sorry, I can't play the map right now but I think that some screenshots would help. biggrin.gif

Neither of those works for me... X-tra Editor has everything I need and there's NOTHING extra you have to mess with like "cut and paste." Also, I haven't noticed any bugs in it either.

I do like the sensor sweep idea. It's definitely different. What about maphacks? Who uses maphacks anyway... I'm just laughing at all of the Trojans they have on their computer right now.

¿Que? Are you talking about the first person shooter "CounterStrike" or the other Starcraft versions of counterstrike?

I understand I'm supposed to accept comments, but not stupid ones.
