Just the other day, I started seeing games on bnet like NAZI defense... I understand that it's ok I guess if they put the terran as a swastika, but when they put the game name as KILL THE JEWS, that really does offend me. I know I'm not a Jew, but seriously it's like everyone on bnet are complete #######s, and don't respect what had happened over 60 years ago. I started re-learning about the Holocaust in my history and english classes, and what I learned really awoke my perspective on that subject. The sad part is that this quote is true: "One death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic" by STALIN (yes the evil bastard of russia).

Yeah, I feel for you on this matter, I've brought this up in some earlier topic by en_taro_shrimpy (Game Ratings).. Anyways, those kinds of map makers are neo-nazis at most or just purely racist... I mean how could you make a hate map and release it onto battle.net.. it just relives the hatred that the Germans had.. maybe it relives even more emotions.. I too am offended by these types of maps.. They should disappear into the Void!!

Guys, they probably just made the maps because many strategic battles took place during WWII. I studyed world war two last semester and had to write a 6 page essay on it. I know about all the battles and such, and most were won by luck, so they are just trying to repeat the battles in maps.

Maybe but the question is why would they base it on killing jews? Why not killing Nazi's? or just killing Soldiers? Instead of bringing more of an insult to the jewish religion by making a map based on killing them.

All that means is that they don't truly understand what Nazi Germany stood for. Those who do understand tend to exploit things like that.

Similar to hackers. People who are don't brag about it, they respect it, but people who aren't like to claim it and show it no honor.

I saw this map a few days ago after a long time off of B.net, and maps like this offend me because I hate racists and I hate nazis. Like everyone else I've studied WWII many times before and the people that made it probably have very little clue of how much hate came from the nazis and its not something to have fun with on B.net. But this isn't the first, I've seen many other maps that offend me. I wish Blizzard would ban people that make maps like this.

Sure the maps are fun maps and all but they could ahve done without the swastica or even the jewish names and the actual title of the map. No matter what you name the map its going to be fun which is why i dont understand why someone would call it that unless they intended on offending people or if they really are a freaking nazi.

The maps are just made for fun but they could be offensive to anyone who was a jew on b.net and that is a bad thing.

He's right. I was going to stay out of this topic, but by bashing the Germans, I have to intercede being 1/8th German myself. If you go even farther back, the symbol of the cross (far pre-Christian era) was a symbol of attack. The swastika was a symbol of peace. It was a cross with the arms broken, suggesting that the aggression of the symbol was vacant. In later years, after the rise of Christianity, the orientation of the symbol began to gain importance. The 45 degree angle was later added to the Swastika, still before the Nazi party existed. This orientation, being considered counter-clockwise and not straight, suggested the antithesis of peace, essentially taking the place of the cross as a symbol of aggression once the cross was widely associated with Christianity. The word swastika comes from the Sanskrit suastika: su meaning good, asti meaning to be and ka a suffix.

Everyone here who is speaking is saying things that they may/may not know is true, but I am HALF jewish, I am more than HALF German, and my great grandfather (He was a jew) fought for Germany in WWI! To get to my point, I'm going to tell my story... First, he was a farmer with a wife and 4 kids. When NAZI Germany (NOT GERMANY, BUT NAZI GERMANY [which is a nazi, not a german country]) started to rise, they started to save up money to get there kids out. First they sent the youngest. Then my grandpa. Then the oldest, because he had a wife and a child, so it seemed right. They had plans to leave, but the NAZI germans got them first. Because he was a war veteran, he was first thrown into a camp that they used for Propaganda Videos (So the rest of the world thought they were not killing Jews). He stayed there for years writing letters home to a GOOD German Neighbor. After a while, the letters stopped coming.
When my Grandpa got to America, he had to learn English and get a job. After he learned English he went into the war to fight the Germans Mainly NAZI germans).

I wanted to tell my history, as part jewish, to show everyone that not all Germans are bad, only the Nazi ones. Infact, any Nazi, in any country, is an ass! We only think of Germany because of WWII and that ass Hitler! Who here doesn't agree with me!
So before anyone says that they feel bad, I say SCREW THOSE LITTLE PRICKS! Did you know the Nazis killed stupid people to create the perfect race, well, I think we should kill all the Nazis, because they all seem to be the dumb asses of our world!

Some of you are being dumb and immature. This is why world wars break out. Immaturity, stupidity, ignorance. You can't discuss anything. You believe what anyone tells you. They tell you "Germans are bad people". That isn't true. I'm not german, nor jew. But racism is pure ignorance and immaturity.

Why is B.Net+the place I live in so full of racist biatchees?
I mean, people have names like "Jew_focker", or will say things like "You stupid jew stop being so cheap!!! JEW!!!"
Is there any particular crime or something that the Jews committed? I'm ignorant of this kinda stuff, and I hope that there's SOME kinda reason for annoying racist comments/names/map subjects.

That's the clincher. Just because DT said he hates Nazis does not necessarily mean that he hates Germans.

I don't particularly hate Nazis. I don't like what they stood for, but it is just like any other war. There are going to be soldiers on each sides, all doing what they are told by the head man.

It was like that in Vietnam. The soldiers came back from Vietnam all screwed up mentally etc, and people hated them for what they did. But it wasn't really their choice to do it. They were part of the army, and the army did what it was told by the higher-ups. This does not necessarily mean that the soldiers agreed with or willingly did all the commands given them though...

The blame almost never falls on the commanders. It almost always hits the troops.

Not just Germans were ever Nazis, even after WWII there were Neo-Nazis, who believed in the same ideas of the Nazis. Some exist in America as we speak, does this mean I'm saying I hate my own country? No. I'm talking about the views of the Nazis, as the topic says; the systematic murder of six million Jews, just because they did not fit the "perfect" race. the fact that the Jews did not meat the "standards" for the perfect race means ver very little at all because in fact many of those jews had blue eyes and blonde hair like the so called perfect aryan race Hitler blamed the jews for germany's loss in WW 1 and for the killing of christ (Hitler was christian) so when he came to power he sought out to comit genocide on all jews in Europe

and Germany was not under Faschist rule it was Nazism its a little different

and actually there were still many many Nazis after WW2 they didnt just go away just like that, becuse of Hitlers propaganda schemes many people were deeply influenced and stiil held those beliefs even after germany's defeat






I dont think all people quite understand what Hitler was all about, they see is his genocidal doings and see nothing more like now if i were to post a hitler quote no matter what about there would be some people that may get pissed for so reason

i understand you, helios. Hitler was just another soldier from the jew haters age that got a seat of power were he could express his hate, just in the wrong way.

hitler was brilliant...he just didn't use it for the right reasons I guess, you know? I mean really; who else would have thought about mass communications? And he did do a lot for germany...I hate to sound anti semitist, because I'm not, I have quite a few Jewish friends (and apparently some Jewish heritage).

First, FireKame is right, Hitler did do alot for the world/Germany! He got the world out of the Great Depression, for instance! However, I don't think he was a very smart man, because he still caused all those deaths and a smart person would see everyone as an equal, no race greater than the other! Also, didn't Hitler like blue eyes and blond hair so he would stick out? That is what I heard (kind of like how he is part jewish...).

This is false, sorry, but it is! If your a Nazi, for any reason, it means you want to kill jews and you are searching for a perfect world with the perfect race, which was believed to be Germans (Hitlers laws of Nazism). That is why this is nothing like vietnam, because in vietnam it was like you said. Here, they fought for Hitler for their own beliefs! They were not forced to stay in the country at the beginning, they could leave! And why are their still Nazis today if Hitler is dead? I mean, shouldn't (by what you said) all Nazis have turned back into normal people only affected by war? That is where you are wrong! You better think about that again!

Last, I would just like to point out that some Nazis escaped to South America! Like, there is this one doctor (I can't remember names!) who did terrible things that made a sickness seem better than going to him. He escaped and never was punished!

nazi's are still around because obviously carrying out orders wasn't the only thing they cared about. That is what is needed in troops; is not only to do what they are told because they are told, but to do so because they believe in it.

I don't hate Nazis, because I think that hating other people because of their beliefs is bringing myself down to their level. The ideals may be wrong, but they could be nice people none the less.

It's hard to picture a nice nazi to some of you guys, I'm sure. but that's my rule of thumb with all the people I know is not to hate them.

How does his actions have anything to do with his "smarts" or intelligence, fpr instance would an "evil genius" be any less intelligent because he is quite willing to kill to accomplish his goals I think not

Hitler must have been smart to get the power in that country, anyway I think nazi belives are just plain dumb. That still does not make nazis dumb just their belives. And I really doubt that all the soldiers in the german army was nazis, they probably wanted to fight because Hitler used propaganda and said stuff about how Germany was treated wrong after the first World War so the soldiers had other reasons to fight.

He rose to power simply by abuse of Nationalism. He was a brilliant public speaker, and rallied everyone to his cause. Once you get enough people under you, they'll all do your bidding. Anyone who spoke out against him would be taken out by the Brownshirts or SS. If you were a non-Nazi German and weren't swept in by the propoganda, you'd either have to run or you'd be killed, simple as that. There is no doubt that Hitler was good at attaining power and keeping it. There is also no doubt as to whether it was abused. For historical accuracy, I'd also like to point out at least 2 million (I forget the exact number) Christians were killed in the concentration camps as well, so saying it was entirely Jewish is extreme idiocy.
