Okay, here's the deal, don't list 500 bands, list a band you really like, or solo artist whom you really like. Give a little background if you can, tell us the gist of their sound. Basically, get little known underrated bands a chance to be recognised and give people a little taste. MAX 3 bands/artists per post. Follow my format.

You know that kickass theme from Clone High? They did that. They're very alternative, interesting lyrics... I really like them. The only album I know of by them is Humanistic, and I actually had to order it in to get it.

The Harlots

Cool band, I especially like their song "Afraid of Mice" for how mental it's lyrics are. Their songs sound very good, and definitly deserve a listen. This band may be more popular in the States than it is here but they only have one album I know of, which would be Crawl Spaces

I can't really think of any others, except The Paper Chase but they aren't that good, and I don't have any of their albums, I've just heard their samples. So rather than waste your time on something you already know, I'll just think of another later and let you have at it.

Chris Broderick, on guitar, rocks. Most underrated guitarist ever. The band sounds pretty good too. If you're into metal, give 'em a try.

Mr. Bungle
Funny name. Funny band. And they took experimentation with music seriously. The whole point of the existance of this band was to experiment and try new things in music. Listening to any single song of theirs you will realize how this was done, in super-crazy mode. While most of their better work isn't actually stable songs (it's more of a collage of different parts of songs) it still comes together to form something great.

Besides all that, Mr. Bungle has also been an influence over countless mainstream (and not so mainstream) bands.

Cool band chu, very predictable melodys contrary to what you suggested... But now I've got a headache, so high pitch >< (Good bye sober and Retrovertical are the songs I've listened to thus far).

Although, I have no idea what bands you think take after them...

You need to listen to more of their songs if you think it's predictable.

I said they influenced other bands, I didn't say other bands take after them (suggesting that their music is like Mr. Bungle's).

System of a Down, Dog Fashion Disco, Incubus, and Weezer are just a few bands influenced. Any band Mike Patton has been in, of course, would be influenced since he was the major driving force behind Mr. Bungle.

I am saying Mr. Bungle has influenced other bands suggesting that their compilations were made with previous ideas about music or sounds in mind. Just because a band is influenced by another, doesn't mean their music sounds even remotely similar.
