I was just wondering what everyone thinks is the most devastating combo of two units...
Let's say that the units have all upgrades, except attack and armor +'s, and the player has 100 minerals and gas...
I'm torn between BC + SCV and Ultra + Medic...
I ought to give better rules:
Scrap the above
Units have only their default abilities, but start with max energy, HP, shields
Player has only 100 minerals and gas
Dark Templars get a 3 second head start for their invisibility, but after which are detectable
In this scenario, what is the best combo of units, in your opinion?
This Isn't a contest, just post what you tihnk is best.
Simple as there would be no best, counters for everything.
Against ground... Obviously anything melee with a defiler.
Best air combo is most definately devourer+valkyrie, ruling out cloaked wraiths or anything matrixed and such. Why, you ask? Well, the devourer's acid spores weaken any air unit's armour by 1, so any other air attack would deal 1 plus damage. Seeing as how teh valkyrie shoots the most missiles in soso amount of time, a BC army with max spores(9) would lose to a valk army, since each rocket would deal 12 dmg, 15 with upgrades.
I'm not sure about ground army, though.
Don't forget that there's damage types... Valkeries handle better for larger targets than corsair due to the fact they're explosive damage and sairs are consussive. However corsair melts the small units, like mutalisk, corsairs, wraiths, and overlords. Personally I'd rather have marine + defiler for anti-air. Air can't damage what it can't hit, and marines are fast, with normal damage, so full to everything.
Plus Sair has toes awesum spellz
It matters against what race.
Against Zerg I'd rather have 3//3 M&M then 3//3 battlecruisers and SCVs
I suspect u mean no upgrade abilities? well if u didnt it would be 2 dark archons or 2bcs or something. I'd say the most destructive would be arbiter plus archon or something.
