Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> How do you make Dark Templars visible?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-04-04 at 23:40:36
I need to know how to make Dark Templars visible for the human player on a movie/cutscene map withouth creating a detector for the human player. (Since this means that the human player will be able to see the detector and move it/attack with it) I need this for the movie map intro of a campaign I'm designing, where a Dark Templar talks to two High Templars on their base and the player watches them.

You did the trigger backwards. Share visions should be though of as "get vision" (when you turn it on anyways)

Another words the vision trigger would be owned by the human player not the computer.

You never thought of simply sharing vision?
WTF?
Hmm... so what's wrong with Detectors?

And you think we actually read previous posts? blink.gif

The first post is kinda important, If you don't even read that then i think you would find yourself not knowing what is going on 95% of the time.

Which can be humorous but it is usually really annoying...

Yes, but that doesn't matter.
Since when do Observers attack units?!
And as for moving, uhh... ever hear of "Order Unit to Location" or "Move Unit to Location" triggers? The attacking problem is nill and makes no sense, while the moving problem is easy to solve. I ignore not-problems.

Attack to location is part of the Order trigger. If it targets an Obs, it's still going to move to the location it's ordered to.

Obviously you don't understand.
The OBSERVER being told to move to its origin location by a TRIGGER.
As for the Movie things attacking it, either ally them to players, or make Observer Invince.

I don't understand? I'm just pointing out using the Order trigger with either attack or move on the Observer won't make any difference.

EDIT: Lookie here! You even had an oversized sig! Another +10% warn level.

Your crossing the line predieanalien. I'm not happy with you at all.

Y won't move?
Y'd you point it out?

This is why I pointed it out.

WTF is "Y won't move?" I'm going to attempt to answer that, assuming you mean "why won't it move?". I didn't say it won't move. I'm saying using the Order trigger to issue both attack and move commands on an Observer will have the same effect.

I'm getting angry now. I'm not posting anymore about this. ranting.gif

And that's got to be one of the worst photoshop jobs I've ever seen...

You know, abbreviating 3 letter words in kind of a waste of time...
Not to mention leaving words out of sentences only confuses people, like Moose... wink.gif
