Kurt cobain was their lead guitarist and singer. They were a 'grunge' no frills band. Their most popular songs were: Smells like Teen Spirit, All Apologies, You know you're right, About a Girl. That's all the real popular ones....

yeah on mtv2 there was a special on kurt kobane, I though he was in a hotel room though when he died

Nirvana is good. I also like how each person spelled the name different. To follow in a trend, I thought Kurt Cobayne really gave something to the band, which they don't have anymore...

No he wasn't in a hotel, he was in a house where he had been living for a while. He killed himself because he was on a lot of drugs and very depressed at the time. He also did not like all the attention of being popular and not being able to live your live normally.
The reason some of you have never heard of them is because they had a very short run together as a band, 3 years or so, but made a huge mark in the music industry before Kurt killed himself.

I'd bet that even the people who haven't heard of them have prob heard Smells Like Teen Spirit or something or other. They have a pretty disctinct sound.

I bought Nevermind a few days after the release, with my older sister we both liked them. Nice to realise i was kinda cool once...

Nevermind's prob my favorite album of theirs. Its just fun to listen to...
