Kings Quest I - Map planning to be made for Starcraft

Ok, so many of you (I hope) have heard/played Kings Quest, either being 1 or above.

Ok, this map is gonna be a remake of what Kings Quest is.

It's going to be in square terrain (iso seems just... ugh...). And the terrain will evolve the map size. Such as it starts off at 128x128, and depending on how much we (me and Venom) need it may grow.

Ideas

Ok, one idea I have is using a spider mine (owned by player 1) and have a terrain civillian on top (owned by player 7). Why? The spider mine causes less of a circle of 'showing' around it, and it makes the character move slow. Which is EXACTLY what we're looking for. (Download the game and see for yourself)

Another idea. On the bottom of the map we will have, Move; Body; and Items.

Move: Dropship menu, has 4 units inside. 1 is "Up" another is "Down" another is "Right" and last is "Left"

Body: Shuttle Menu, once again. Has as many units as we can think of. Such as: Pick up, Drop, Examine, Push, etc.

Items: Duh! What you pick up.

Also, near the item menu we'll have a dark archon. The dark archon will be the... Item picker. Mind control the item, choose "Use Item" on the shuttle and you use it. (Still thinking about this one, seems complex).

Ok, I may be talking fast and not making some sence (got one hour of sleep, whatcha expect?). Just bare with me.

Incredlibly confusing. Mix body and Items to be in the same place Instead of having pick up and what not on 'Body', You should have a few beacons representing body parts (head, neck, chest, hangs, legs, feet) and next to those beacons is whatever you have on that bodypart. Now you can move your items into the correct spot to put it on, making sure that its easy to tell which item is stronger than another and which goes where. There should be another beacon called 'Use' for potions and keys and whatever else you're gonna add. Great idea though, just needs to be easier to explain pinch.gif

What do you mean mix? Dropship = Move, Shuttle = Body.

Beacons might take up to much. Item, Body, and Move menus are like... Very bottom, very small space.

Well, then you're just stuck with one thing playing the whole game, itd be better if you could change around, like instead of gear just put 1 beacon for body, and items can be like "Archer's uniform and weapons" which turns you into a ghost, or "Heavy armor and sword" which can be ultralisk or dt

he obviously hasn't. i played King's Quest VI and was a huge fan of it. in fact, I still play it every once in a while when im bored. im glad you're making a map out of it.

It'll probally be the only one considering Kings Quest 2 and above have WAY more items than SCXE has units.

I hope me and my friend will do a good job at making it smile.gif

Idea's for units I have are:

You - Terran Civillian
King - High Templar
Guards - Marines
Rat - Ultralisk

Anyone I left out from the game? (Kings Quest won't work, what a shame sad.gif). And how does the unit/person idea look?

Don't forget many different areas in KQ 1, as well wood chopper guy in forest with his women who sick in bed. Wizard that roams around area and other shit lol Well uh w/e good luck josh =)

I think the wizard would need to be randomized, as such for dwarves and wolfs.
