I've been thinking of doing a game lately that consists of many different rpg concepts. Such as spells, weapons, forms of leveling up, etc. However i also was thinking of a few other things. For one, I was thinking i shouldn't do an actual RPG because they are very time consuming and require lots of organized planning, something I'm not in the mood for. Number two, I wanted to experiment with an idea of combining attacks, but it would be too much to put into a full fledged RPG. At this point i'm thinking i could just do some sort of short rpg-concept type of map. Then thirdly, I bought Soul Calibur 2($6

) for PS2/XBOX and began to think, "Man all these things you can do in a simple fighting map sure are intresting, it would be really cool to put this into other games." Then I began putting 1 and 2 together after i got a glass of juice, and began thinking of a fully put together map concept right in front of me. So here is what I thought could be done.
A Tekken/Soul Calibur Option style gameMaking a game with multiple options and a main menu. Options would include things such as:
*A story/conquest mode concept
*Versus Mode
*Team Versus Mode
*Survival Mode
*Beat the clock
(a concept where you win as fast as you can and can save your time to compete against other people)*Finally I wanted some sort of special mode, a mode that allow the players to take a unique twist in the gameplay. I couldn't quite think of what to do so this one is just open.
*
Maximum of 2 more Modes for public request.Advanced Spell System*Dropship spell system for easy and quick usage
*Spell Strategies similar to that of Dota(WC3 Popular map). The strategies would consist of things like, a character who relies on spells that heal, or alter conditions, and another character who just does damage, etc.
*Interactive system, this would allow some spells and actions to be able to interact with the enviroment.
*Combination Attacks, as I said above I really want to implement some combination attacks. Deciding what to use would require production of the map so this is still something i can't speak much upon.
*
Maximum of 4 spells for each playerSecretsI defenitely will input the idea of unlocking secrets within the map. The most obvious ones will be unlocking different battle zones, and Characters. I plan to do this by using a barracks system for people to input codes. They would recieve the codes by playing the pre-unlocked game modes(whichever I choose). Other things I can think of would be unlocking game modes, and unlocking miscelaneous options(settings).
So I've put together all these ideas, what do you guys think? Should I start a map using some of this stuff, or would it be a useless attempt? Give feedback plz.
