Here I am, grieving over the fact that my BW CD doesn't work anymore. 
I started seeing that something wrong was happening with my BW CD when for some reason I could no longer connect to BNet with it. And just yesterday I finally saw it was busted when the game wouldn't load anymore, and my computer just gave me error messages. After that, I checked the CD and saw that it was dirty, scratched, and totally unusable.
Not everything is lost to me, however, since my original SC CD still works, but I found playing/mapping with BW a bit better.
I hate my computer.

Happened to me... Well differently. My CD Burner drive went psycho one day and chopped my BW CD to pieces... That's why I had to buy a new one... because my good for nothing friends wouldnt let me borrow theirs to burn it... Well after I bought it, I burned it IMMEDIATELY, so now I have 2 copies, one I just bought and one I burned... You never know when fate will strike your BW CD...

revelade you should have used a sniper rifle to take out your friends then steal their bw cds.

Have you tried to clean it?
You can still play multiplayer Brood War off a Regular SC CD.

I got a few copies. One for each of my computers, though I've never actually had a netowrk game for 'em. Mostly one for my laptop, which I do not trust the original on (since I don't want to lose them both at the same time). Oh well, it's like 10 bucks now for one, quite cheap.

BTW, while you're on B.net in a channel, you can eject the CD. I don't know why I'm mentioning this, or why anyone would give a damn, but hey, this is the Gerbage Forum.
