I know most gamers shun cheat codes. It is known to spoil fun, because frankly, whats the point of playing a game if you wont really play it?

But nevertheless, i think most of us have used cheats at some point or another, even if it was early in our childhood, when games seemed tougher to play. Also, not all cheats are for level skipping and god mode. Im also talking about cheats that enable some extra effects or features, such as the nuke trooper in AOE, or some of the many GTA3+ cheats which dont really affect the essential gameplay.

So....answer the poll, please.

I use cheats that do funny stuff, like in MOH: Frontline where the soldiers got weird hats like giant pineapples and stuff. Also, I might use other cheats when I finish the game.

i use cheats for games levels that i don't like like on warcraft the sentinels campaign i hated it and my little brother uninstalled it so i had to do campaiin all over oh no i just skiped sentinles campain with cheat

I use codes mainly for fun. But if it gets a little too intense, thats when I break out the codes. But for the main part for me, for fun.

I use coulds to have fun all the time like if i beat a game i would go back and use cheats and codes on it just for heck of it. Favorite Game To Cheat on *Toruk 1&2*

I have a rule. I can only use cheat codes as soon as im done with the game. Because if I cheat before then it takes out all the fun for me. But it can be more fun when im done with the game.

Side note, a REALLY fun thing to do in Starwars Jedi Knight is spawn tons of storm troopers and then a small group of jedi and watch them fight. The Jedi will deflect or or redirect 90% of the shots and own the storm troopers. I think even 1 Jedi would be able to take on hundreads of troopers.

Cheat codes for me are in my RTS games. Anyways, I usually beat the campaigns so I know I beat it without the aid of cheats. Then later I just use cheats to do "funny" stuff and mess around with the AI. But Empire Earth does not allow cheat in their campaigns. If I play on a normal map and I'm about to die then I use cheats just for a bit to relieve my anger then I just revert to the old saved file of the game.

I cheat to amuse myself. But, I agree with Chu and other's.


I used too be such a little cheater. I would always play games with and not limiting others:

Infinite Ammo
God Mode
Infinite Money

Anw many, many more.

I wish I didn't. It blew the games right out of the water, Meh.. What can you do when back then you had the common sense of a mole rat!

I use cheats all the time, especially when I'm stuck. I don't use game enhancer cheats like Gameshark, Code Breaker, and Action Replay. They freeze the game too much.

After I beat GTA: Vice City without cheats.. I was dieing to use some of the cheats they had. Using the dodo cheat (Once you get enough speed you fly up in the air for like 5 seconds then slowly go down) and aiming the tank turret backwords you can fly anywhere and 5x higher then helicopters can go. You can go to that tallest building, its fun.

Cheats are just minimodifications, they are fun, everyone cheats someway or another, its to tempting not too!(In video games, urgh)

I think there is only one cheatcode I ever put in, it wasn't even a cheat. It changed Luke Skywalker's head to George Lucas.

Other than that, why cheat? Especially on one player games. You're only cheating yourself.

I don't, the only game I've ever used a cheat code on is Starcraft, I don't even know where to get cheat codes from (I guess I could just google it if I wanted to).

Yeah, I remember when I didin't realise the power of the internet and I wanted the cheats and I though you had to buy them in a cheat book. But then later all you do I search "-insert game name here- cheats" and here they are.

Well for Starcraft, when I first got it, I played the whole terran campaign nonstop without cheats. It took hours, so I looked online to find out more about Starcraft when I found out about the cheat codes. Then I just cheated my way throughout the rest of the game

I use cheats, but only the cheats that do funny/cool stuff, not ruin the game.

If I'm bored with the game(ugh) and want to beat it asap to see the ending (Painkiller) I cheat. Or when I lost the save file T.T Other than radiofreezerg stuff I try to complete stuff manualy. ut2004 clanlord was a pain

I completed ut2004 (single-player) without cheats, xan is like 99/100 impossible. What I did was kill him once at the start and hid in a spot where the Bots AIPaths don't go

Nah I beat ut2004 without cheats.
It got hard on Domination and the ClanLord.
I took the minigun and aimed for his head with the alt-attack Then I went outside to the ASMD and camped only to come down for armor.
Xan is easy :/

I never use cheats. It ruins the game. I would rather leave the game for a month or some time and go back to it, then cheat and beat it in a day.

yeah yeah yeah so i use cheats but rarely though i dont really want to mess up the game......unless im determened to win the game.

i use cheats on gta for xbox but i dont use them to ebat the game i use them when im bored and feel like getting chased by cops.

I never use cheat codes. I have never used cheat codes while playing the game, Never used cheat codes after i completed the game.
