Staredit Network -> Games -> Latency Issues
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ShadowBrood on 2005-07-15 at 18:30:53
Me and my friend have been having some serious latency issues. Most of the time it takes like 4 or 5 battle.net reconnects to get rid of it. Then it instantly comes back the next game. He has it even worse. It never goes away and no one can join any of his games.

If anyone has a way to remove latency without reconnecting or joining games and having the other guy follow, it would be greatly appreciated.

Does the problem only happen when you host games? Can you join other people's games and do they during the game? Are any of you using a router?

Try another Gateway (West, East, etc.) and see what happens... (?)

The same goes with my friend. Can host games, but nobody can join. It's probably the Internet connection. And I think this might help: Go into the StarCraft folder and delete the file called "battle.netcache.dat" or something like that. That file contains all the games you have played. It is also recommended that you do it every 25 games. I found this on www.creepcolony.com.

Ya I have some problems too but not as bad as you and friends, people can join my games but it lag (some of the time) and now is show everyone droping at one time, and that usally means that I'm lagging. The old patches i rarely lagged at all.

I had it even worse than your friend... For me... I couldn't host games with people joining... If I joined another game I couldn't hear anyone talk... Only the host. And if there was 1 other person besides me and the host I couldn't DL the map or I would drop instantly in game...

Luckly Volcove had the same problem and told me how to fix... Boy am I happy!

If you have DSL you might want to add a 3rd party program (Access Manager For Sympatico) and connect to your internet manualy... This actualy works!!!

It doesnt do anything and thats not what its called. The file is just bncache.

As for me i have my own problems. Everytime i connect to b.net or get banned from a game there are no games at all. Its just black. I have to wait a few seconds then i see games again.

Im running windows xp and my internet connection is 3mbps.

To fix that create a game, start it, and on the breifing screen hit cancel.
