My own personal notes page, you guys are free to suggest anything you want.
=- Main Page -=
- Putting a header (UMS, Melee, Mods, Progs, Wavs), and then categories below it with background images. (Intended to be very simple).
- Include per cat: Last file, # of files, cat title & description.

- (still thinking) Kindof like the view we have now, except the smaller data will be in a 2 coloumn table, while description, screenshots (more on that below), and map pic will be in one big table at the top. Much like now.
- Screenshot feature. An optional feature that is not required (and the DLDB keepers dont have to do anything with it either). You may add up to 10 screenshots that are uploaded to the site. They show ingame screens of gameplay so users may see how the map looks while you play. It differs from Map picture because map picture is more the minimap or some fancy logo for the map in question.
- New comments system. Less emoticons per comment (3?) prehaps a manditory rating per comment. Report button reports comments to the DLDB keepers in another queue. Maybe hides the comment? Maybe make it a review system instead?
- New rating feature: Rating will not display unless the map has 3 or more ratings.
- Estimated Download time. It will list popular connections and estimate how long it will take to download.
- File size stored. No longer will it have the issue of doubling our bandwidth usage or whatever. It is stored in the database.
- Referer problems fixed. When downloading as a guest, referer will be checked. If you are logged in, a security key will be slapped onto urls, and that will be checked instead. So people behind firewalls or whatever, just have to sign up to get rid of this problem.
- You can add an editor to "watch" or "favourite list". Favourite list goes under your profile, so others can see which mappers you like. You also have a number (and maybe a list) of people who have you favourited as well.
- Watch works in the same way as favourite list, except you have the option of being notified when the user adds a file (that they did or did not make, its optional), updates to their files, the person makes a tutorial, and more. (all of these are options).
- When a file is downloaded, it is saved to a list, where you can easily rate them after. This should encourage people to rate and review maps more.
- Authors have the ability to respond to reviews and comments, which shows up directly under.
- Favourite maps will show up in your profile.

Good idea, but don't let it rape the bandwidth

No simple member action should be able to hide the comment. Report a good idea.

Still, it's easy to abuse. Perhaps a)notify DLDB keepers each time this happens or b) only let regulars+ do it?

If you don't give us FTP, please give us a very simple collapsed list view of maps with approve/download/delete/edit like we have now. it makes it easier to mass download.

ADMIN: Send a generated message with attached comments when a map is deleted.

Easily accessible approve/deny log function inside the dldb cp for any administration to view... or maybe anyone at all? (I'm thinking we should universally have all our log tables name as log_<type>... ie... log_dldb_actions or something.)
