Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> P12 and triggers

A question i cannot solve is are there triggers than can detect your upgrades. If this is possible, would it also be possible to order computer players to upgrade percific ups?

And if it is possible, i need to use P12 (Nuetral) to have mirrored upgrades of a human player.

I will have
1 enemy cpu that upgrades whenever it has the cash
4 human players whos upgrades will be recorded so they can be the same as
4 allied computer players (p12) with the same ups as humans.

The closest thing that I can think of to possibly solve your problem is to use death triggers to record the upgrades.

I don't really know how your system works or I could give you a more definitive answer. As for detecting upgrades, there is no trigger. But if you allow the player to upgrade whatever statistic in a controlled manner, say 1 Terran Infantry Weapon (i.e. costs 1 mineral) and 1 Terran Infantry Armor (i.e. costs 1 gas), and you use an RPGish leveling system, then you could use death counters to control how the computers upgrade (I'm guessing that computers will upgrade as much as they can, though this might require an AI Script to set the computer to a hard setting or something, I'm not sure).

Also, if you're thinking about using the computers to attack and stuff, I'm nearly 100% sure that P12 won't attack anything.

If you enlightened us about the settings for your problem, then we could help you out more.

Ok well it is the reverse of a defense game, you are the ongoing units and u have to try and make it to the other side each level.

So when creating the terrian i decided that i didnt want the players to have control of the units when they went across. So i would need 8 players, when i need 9

Since p12 doesnt attack i was going to use it as one of the players who run across.

then i have a spare slot for the cpu player (the defender)

After working out how it works i realised i would need to mirror human upgrades with that of the players who run across.

I figured that i could use AI for the defender (cpu) to issue terran weapon ups when the money was available.

Now i could do this with the players that do the running, except they can have ups on almost anything (except attack), so i cant just order them to upgrade. I was thinking of an AI script that tells themwhich upgrade, but i cant do that unless i can detect what upgrades the humans are buying.

So basically players pick units that try to make it across to the end of the level while getting spanked by the computer player the entire way?

It sounds boring...

ADDITION:
Unless you add lots of features and stuff. You could make it like a realistic environment where your troops are badly outnumbered and you must make it to various objectives deep in enemy territory, like a computer terminal or machine gun nest or something.

Its going to be done so you need to use your resources carefully, and you also have luck (enemy units are random) so it will be chanelging, not boring, there are a lot of optionsand tactics invloved.

Sicne you play as a team there will donate option and such to use spells to help.
