The forum icons on the right of the forum names look a bit... well, queerish. I know some of you guys have kick ass image abilities, so, here's your chance to make a difference in senv5's general sexiness.
Image design:
32x32 pixels.
No heavy animations... only very subtle (if any).
Transparent background (in case we ever have multiple skins where the background ISN'T black).
I'd also need another copy of the same image, grayscaled.
General idea for the forum you are making the image for.
What I want is each forum to have it's own nice identifying icon. The grayscaled copy is for "no new posts". As of now, the only one I really like is the icon for Map Making Assistance and Terrain's icon is alright. Any choosen ones net the person a nice +1 or maybe +2 admin karma in senv5. Karma and repuation is used in many equations... in one important instance, the amount of minerals you will get per post will be a bit randomized. Karma, repuation, and character cout will have their play...
There will also be a very small chance you'd get minerals for regularly non-mineral forums.

Hmm, I wish I can do some of those forum icons except I got extremely a lot of things to do. Mods, Maps, Melee Maps, etc.

Well, I might decide to try making a couple icons.
Right now I'm running Linux, and I'm forced to use IconEdit as opposed to a program that is, in my opinion, far superior by many times- MSPaint.
But I also don't have mapping, modding, or drawing to do, so that means I have more time...

Nice Gamecube Zero.
I like the current icon- it makes sense, a Nintendo controller.
Nintendo is one of the older video-game consoles and I think that it's unarguably the signature of videogames, and the controller is the interface between player and console.
Though, either of you notice how he said that he also needs gray-scale versions?

And the fact the background needs to be transparent!
Or... at the very least, black.
The fact that the current standing of using grayscale/faded out images pretty much rules out the use of all gray for an icon as well.

I compiled a few icons this morning - about 3 hours in all. Note that I didn't make all of these, and those that I did, were based on existing ones. Therefore, I don't take credit for the design of the icons that I did make.
This is a sample image with all of the icons. If you like them, I can send you a zip of all of the icons (I don't have them in grayscale because, well, I don't have any software that can do that
as I make everything in flash + paintbrush).
Anyway, one of the big differences (I hope that you don't mind) is that the icons are 48x48 instead of 32x32. After testing, I found that the tables in the site would only have to be resized width-wise, with no changes to height (just the icons are closer to the borders of their cells).
The icons are more than 256 colors, so they are in BMP, PNG, or JPG format (whichever you prefer).
