Microsoft XP Professional
AMD Anthlon™ Processor
1.10GHz, 512 MB of RAM

And urs isnt the lowest price, mine may not be the best of the best, but its pretty damn good and it cost maybe 400 for the comp alone and another 120$ for everything else.

I find it amusing that you call that set-up 'old' and 'basic.' It's pretty damned good, perhaps with the exception of the processor. Still 64 bit though.

How do you people run on 300 watt power supplies? I have an Enermax 535 watt PS. If I ever get a second 7800 GTX for SLI, I'll probably need around a 600 watt PS or above to get stable system performance.

It is. The FX-55 runs at 2.6 GHz, and I think the 4000+ runs at around 1.8 GHz. With that in mind, the FX-55 is roughly the equivalent of a 5777+, except that it's built for gaming applications with an entirely different core so I'm estimating that it is closer to a 6000+ without overclocking. I'll only overclock when I need the added performance, and needless to say, I don't at this point in time.

I also prefer the smaller but faster hard drive because it's large enough to fit my OS and all of my games on (though gamers that have a lot of money and buy a lot of games may need the larger and slower hard drives). Still, Moogle has a nice set up if he has Raid 0-striping config set up.

The video card is like three years old, and it just fails to perform where needed. The SB! Live isn't bad, but it only runs at 5.1 audio (I believe, compared to SB Audigy 2, which runs at 7.1. Not a problem for most people, and I'm not sure, but I'm willing to bet that Audigy 2 has better technology for increased audio performance).

Everything else has been standard for like... ever.

Oh, and choice of RAM is very important! Generic RAM is crap. Moogle, what type of RAM do you run?
