From now on, if you see people starting a flame war... especially with the use of now uncensored "swear" words... don't hesitate to dish out suspensions.
There is a difference between stating an opinion and a flame... it really depends on the situation, but in some instances, calling someone a jerk may be okay. I'll leave it to your discretion, ask another mod/admin if you aren't sure.
As for the number of days... yoshi wants 3 day suspensions no matter what kind of involvement. I guess I'm leaving that up to you, but, if an instance like this occurs:
> Your opinion is stupid, although I can barely read it, learn to talk.
>> Stop being such a jerk, I'm just learning english.
> STFU noob.
>> Go to hell!
3 day suspension for both, minimum.
Just so you know, I've already been dishing out suspensions for stuff outside of a 100% warn level. Mostly for frequent flaming or anything severe.
(like my last suspension was in Maps in Production where someone literally threatened to kill someone elses family if they continued with a map - I think he has a 40% warn right now though)
over a map? Jebus.
Even first offenses? :\
Take a look at the thread here, it was
iamandragon:
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopic=17962Of course he 'claims' that someone 'hacked' his account and posted ... but if thats so then why didnt they change his password or cause more havoc and :poo: on the forums, etc. It doesn't make sense to me and he still uses iamandragon just fine. So, of course, I don't believe that bull:poo:.
ADDITION:
Hehe, bull:poo: <- I love how that comes out.
95% of all these posts saying "My account got hacked" are fakes.
That other guy which posted like 10 threads saying that it wasn't him ended up being him. It was from the same computer, and he initially said it was his brother and then he said it was his cousin and he told his own mom who lives next door from his house.
And if it is true, they should'nt have had such an easy password or somehow made it available to someone.
This excuse for flaming someone is pretty lame and it almost never works, most of a time they make a post and 2 minutes later the "hacking" occurs on his own computer.
When someone puts in this excuse, I just check and compare posting times with Ip addresses.
Speaking of double accounts (or name change, I don't know) is Theoretical Human now Wilhelm?

Actually, ALL posts saying "my account got hacked" are fakes. Hackers would obviously go after my or IP accounts first. Not some random member with 5 posts.
This site has only truely been hacked twice - once a long time ago someone got into my account through brute force (and my passsword back then was simple - I was too ignorant) and the second time that other guy got in by using a server vunerability with our SEN demo cpanel account.
Theoretical Human paid for it.

LoL this thread reminds me of this
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopic=8267When IP said "I don't know why your waisting your time"

I'm not making some huge ass moderating guideline
book .
While me and yoshi were discussing censoring words, one of the problems with non-censorship was the flaming. Arguably, it's a good point but I didn't see it as a solution to the problem...
So we decided instead, we need to have everyone being less lenient to certain people with their "swear" words being used simply to flame.
And this topic is simply so everyone is sorta on the same page.
Oh i compleatly understand IP (hince the word Reminds)
uhh Good job + 5 points for IP
What... no points for me?
*Kame da Sniper steals points.
muahaha.
On a serious note, the reason I want everyone to be so strict about flaming, is because before I left, things weren't like this. All of you noticed, I have a much different way of running websites then other webmasters. Most admins hide in a dark corner until something terrible runs loose, and they rush in and save the day. I don't want to be like that because its no fun. It's true that webmasters can shape their communities judging by the rules and guidelines they set.
For example, the icantlose.com site that's been spamming us before, is owned by an immature kid who's using some lame phpnuke engine. Because the webmaster is so immature and stupid, the rest of the community follows.
All I want here, is mature and intellectual talk in some forums, and fun/messing around forums in other areas. It worked up to when I left, because mainly no one knew my tricks of the trade and how I would run things to get things to stay the way things are. Its no ones fault. So far, I've done a pretty good job getting it back to where it was, the flaming is the last problem, and this is the solution. No tolerance for flaming. Suspend. Harsh? Yes. So we wont see it as often anymore, as what is already happening.

Nah, hiding in a dark corner is IP's job With a laptop But really, if you look at places like blizzforums and warboards, they're full of these examples of admins hiding in a corner. The only two cool admins I know from both sites, is BSTrhino and RedCloak.
True, you do have a point. You're the enforcer admin Being an elite Sniper you should hide in the dark more often. Or you can change your name to "Yoshi In YoFace" and take a less dark corner apporch you are describing.
