Well, at my summer school there's this kid who knows how to do the rubiks cube and he could do it in like a minute, and I got interested in it. I got mine like a week ago and started solving it.

I've found instructions online on how to finish it to. I like to go layer by layer, but I know it's not the fastest way to do it. I can do the first 2 layers easily and now I'm working on memorizing the algorithms on how to do the last layer and finishing the cube.

Anyone else ever try solving the rubiks cube, and how do you like to solve it? You can also talk about 4x4, 5x5 and other kinds of cubes. Also, if you can solve one, say how fast you can do it smile.gif

A friend of mine broke my rubics cube. sad.gif
Anyway, there is an algorithm that was made by a scientist that even a blind man could complete a rubics cube. Not sure what the pattern is though.

that flicking peice of :poo: is hard to do.
even if its on a keychain.

My "algorithm" is taking the stickers off and placing them back on.

ROFL, you know you cheat in anything complex. But me, I tryied them so many times, but I could always get one side and that'd be it...

I beat it, without cheating.

I laugh at all of my friends or other people that must resort to cheating (taking tape off or w/e) to beat the cube.

In my youth group we have senior night, and this one kid always played with a rubriks cube, so we got him that. Someone mixed it up for him and gave it to him, so while his friend was talking about him he beat it. It was like in a minute and a half too; very funny.

It takes me like 3-4 minutes to beat the cube.

I have a friend who could beat it in like 1 minute and 16 seconds crazy.gif but that's not his average time.

My cousin can work it out in a very short time and near the end he does not look at it and he finnishes it. (No it is not the final turn he does to finnish it, about maybe 10-15 rotations). I am not that good at doing it, give me maybe an hours.

I've seen in the stores those 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 rubiks cubes crazy.gif . I wouldn't even dare TOUCH those... hideous things pinch.gif

Usually it takes me about 5 minutes to break the thing apart, get tape and glue and put it back together completed.

Can someone post the algorithm for it? I want to know cry.gif

There are tons of patterns for doing this. I was taught what my friend said was the most simplistic, but tedious, way. It's something that must be shown live; it's almost impossible to teach someone by text or 2D pictures.

a kid in my study tried the rubix cube everyday for about an hour for half of a school year.. and the most he got was 2 sides completed.. (he didnt cheat and go on the internet) he tried to do it by himself

Find a link to your brain. There is no point to cheat on rubix cube nono.gif ! When I was about 9 years old I finished it by just randomly switching it! TWICE! But now I have lost my rubix cube.

My friend can solve a Rubiks Cube in less then 30 min. I have no Idea how he does it.

I make sure that he doesn't cheat, And put it a certain way so he doesn't know where to move it, Because I mix it up.

I hate those things... I can't even get the face to match. All I have gotten is like maybe 2-3 rows...

I've started to get into the Cube Craze about 3 weeks ago and have been trying to improve my record since. Last night I got the best so far, 1 minute 25 seconds.

Getting the first 2 rows is pretty easy. For the first row you just pick 1 side, and get it all in the right place, and make sure the sides are too. For the second row, I found a simple algorithm that you just keep repeating to get all the pieces in place.

That's the site I used to learn how to solve it. Those are instructions on how to finish the second layer, and then the whole cube.

Here's the instructions from the very beginning:

Also, anyone who is interested in cubing, have you lubricated your cubes? I want to lubricate mine so it turns real smooth, but I want to know what kind of lubricant to use smile.gif

Actually, the second layer can be done without algorithms, you can figure out how to solve it without disturbing the first layer.
