It's good to know that hard-earned tax dollars are being spent on weeding out trouble makers such as this girl, who indeed, threw a rock with the intention to kill. That truely, is a our tax dollars at work!

That kinda makes sence, the kid had to get stitches... but it shouldn't be a felony.

the fact that it was in self-defense and she was charged makes no sense.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Chef on 2005-07-28 at 10:25:38
Self defence, by law, is when you use equal or lesser force. They were throwing balloons at her, that there was almost no way they could hurt her badly, had she just ran home and told her mommy they could have done something about the harrassment, and that'd be that. Parents don't teach their kids a damn and this is what we get, idiots who think it's a good idea to throw a sharp, jagged, object at someone's head. If she had only threatened them with it, they would have left her alone, and she could have still gone to mommy and told her about the harrassment and the boys would be punished. But no, parents don't have the time to teach their kids anything useful. They're teaching her a valuable lesson, as long as it doesn't go on her criminal record (which I'm almost sure you have to be 13+ to get) she'll be better off learning the hard way.

In short, I think it all could have been avoided had her parents sat down for 5 ****ing minutes and told her what to do if she was being harrassed... or maybe she just could have been smart enough to know that it's better to just end a situation with a threat, than to actually hurt someone who had no intention of doing damage that would last more than say, an hour. I think the parents should have settled it themselves, and not taken the law into it... but that's just me.

Like a threat is any better. -_- I doubt you'd let some punks throw water balloons at you. yawn.gif

felony?
Wasn't taking a sub-machine gun into a bank, holding 10-20 people hostage for ten minutes, stealing millions of dollars, and driving away like gradn felony, armed robbery, and so on?

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL?
I mean i once hit a person older than me with a hockey stick, and I didn't even get suspended!

Apparently you have never been pelted in the face with a water ballon.

And secondly, there could have been rocks in the water ballon.

And third, you can't charge harrassment charges for a water ballon fight. You would have to charge assault charges, like she had them charged on her.

So, if a 21 year old women was being over powered by a 22 year old man and the guy was going to do bad stuff to her shifty.gif . and she found a gun on him and shot him *Below the waist* lets say the leg. It wouldn't be considered as self defence?

[sarcasm]Every 11 needs to be told what to do if you are being harrassed because it happens to everyone at the age of 11. OMG those parents are so stupid for not telling their kid not to throw a rock when she was being over powered by multiple boys.[/sarcasm]

Also, a water balloon COULD blind you. (wow i sounded like a parent stop doing that it could poke an eye out) hehe...

ADDITION:
oh yeah too bad she wasn't a celebrity because she would be innocent if she was.

Actually, if a water baloon hits you hard in the chest, it can kill you. I find this utterly idiotic by the way, throwing a rock is not assualt with a deadly weapon.

I agree.

Shows how messed up our justice system if we convict a 11 year old for assault since she threw a rock.

And you just learned this now?

Here in Preston, you touch someone that's a minor and you're above the age of 18, instant jail time for you.

Even if they are 17 and turn 18 in two days...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ultimo on 2005-07-28 at 12:30:48
Yes, I just learned this. I should instead being saying "you" instead of "our" since I don't live in the U.S.

That's the stupidest law I've seen. -_-

You're not allowed to hang a bed out of the window in the UK, and an archaic law states that a child under 10 is forbidden to see a naked mannequin.

Ultimo, I meant Prison time lol

And the UK is messed up, lol.

This is just ridiculous really, did you notice the part about how they sent several squad cars and a HELICOPTER to subdue a eleven year old girl who threw a rock. And I would really like to hear how the hell a rock is a deadly weapon, last time I checked, socks wern't deadly weapons either, but oh noes, you could strangle someone with one, best classify socks as deadly weapons too, I guess I'll be getting arrested for whacking someone with a sock now.
This is the sort of incident that makes me want to move to canada.

HOLY SHEET THIS GIRL IS CRAZY!! LOL!!! If I was to meet here I be like NOW YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE IN JUVY/HOUSE ARREST!!! I got arrested because my friend was dealing this one guy and the cops showed up and we took off running. Then like 1 week later cops saw us again, but we had no where to run so me and my friend ran up 2 the cops and took those stick things and started to beat them with it then we ran. I was in juvy for 1 year and 6 months. Probation for 5 months and I was on house arrest for 2 months it was an exciting experiance. My friend is still in jail he almost killed the cop.

class-A bull:poo:. If you run at an officer, they instantly see you as a threat and tell you to back the censored.gif down. With gun in hand. You would probably piss yourself if they pointed a gun at you.

trust me im crazier than it seems, and the cop never pointed guns at us.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kashmir on 2005-07-28 at 16:25:39
Then is never happened. I know most of the cops around here and they have explained to me how they do their job. If you cross the imaginary line that encircles them, they will use force. The only way you could surprise them is if they had you "spreading em" on a car and you turned around and grabbed the nightstick. I HIGHLY doubt you got the stick and beat him. Also what you "say" you did is considered attempted murder, so you would of gotten more then house arrest.

He's still going with the waterballoons with rocks in them. Lol. Have you ever tried that? Like "LOL SPLASH DAMAGE WITH EXTRA BOOST OF ROCKS!" Get it? Get it?

Anyways pretty retarded. I don't get how the cops could catch her unless she was standing there just waiting for that guy to call the cops on her. If I were her I would've ran since those guys don't know where she lives? I hope they don't. Unless they're like neighbors or something. Anyways overall if they didn't know where I lived I would've ran.

Officer: "Bob, look out, the girl's got another rock!"
Helicopter Pilot: "Huh? OH MY GOD, I'M HIT, I'M GOING DOWNNNNN"
Officer: "Mayday, Mayday, we need backup!"

Yeah, right.
