Hello my name is Coke-E and i am new to this Site! I went to Channel Op Sen On Us East battle Net And i was getting Harrased because supposedly i knew nothing about map making like (Making a Vulture look like a scv etc.) So therefore i was condemed stupid....! But i Was Wondering If Anyone Could Help me or at least help me understand the basics of doing this .... Even Though i am 12 i am very intelligent for my age i dont understand programming so i could be of no help to understand there Help would be appreciated!

Generally, saying that you were trying to figure out something that's impossible and never has been done before, and whose imposibility should be apparent to just about anyone that has any considerable skill with mapping, stating it in the same post as one with ludicrously horrible capitalization, punctuation, and poor grammar, and stating that you are "very intelligent" for your age will only get people to think that you overestimate yourself. Atleast, that's the impression I get, and the one I've seen plenty of others to get from this kind of statement.

Anyways, this post should be in Mapping Assistance(you may say modding since changing sprites is a modding-related concept, but he's trying to get help with a non-existant mapping technique).

Of course, the math invovled in hex editing might be a bit complex for you, seeing as its rarely taught with any depth in middle schools, and even being "very smart" won't help you if you don't know the math.

If it were StarEdit's problem, then that would make it Yoshi and IP's problem, in which case you should be telling him to tell them about it. But is it their problem? No.

Sorry, I don't know which page its on either, although I have the map somewhere around here. Suffice to say, it is possible. Its probably one of the middle ones though.

Dr.shotgun- He wasn't dissing linux, but you should realize if you know anything at all about linux you would know that it IS exceedingly challenging to use for gaming even if you use some prepackaged junk.
Addition to Ezday2-- If you can't run SC on your linux, try downloading WINE, a program that can be useful in running games in linux.

Um, ya, problem is I have hardly any space on the hardrive. You may tell me that SC doesn't really require much, but when you only have a few gigs left, SC seems plenty big.

No, modding is not more effecient, because everyone has to download your mod in order for modding to work, also, can you change a unit's weapons IN game with modding? I think not. As for modding being more effecient, LW is creating an editor which can do all of these things for you. So, could you explain to me whats better about modding?
