For those of you that're confuzzled here is a simple step-by-step manual

Select a race. 1 out of 3 then check how many minerals you have. You might be surprised Like i was
.Then when you get enough minerals. Train your units by selecting the 'training' link that yoshi was nice enogh to put under links 
. I would go with 3 attack specialists and 2 defense. Then when you have enough get another defense and keep on switching off and on. Round robin basically.Once you have done that. Don't worry about upgrading siege weapons and/or Fortifications. Anyhow back on topic. Get some gauss rifles. Then save up for more stuff. (hopefully the gauss rifles are with you all) Or buy the first weapon and/or armor. (if you don't have gauss eifle).When you're ready to attack. Click the attack link. Choose aperson at your standards(or who you think is at your standards). Attack with 1 turn. To see how good their army is. If they do way more dmg back off. If you do more. Well you win 
. Be sure to upgrade siege and fortifications once in a while. And always check the attack log also. So you can see who attacked. And who you attacked. Hope this can help you. If not. PM me

You didn't answer a burning question I have: When do you get more turns? (I used up all of mine)

You get more turns everyday.

Turns are something the adds up everyday, and you use them to attack (its to prevent overattacking players)
