Remember this was started at 1 AM SUNDAY Morning

Race
This has three possible choices Terran, Zerg or Protoss. The choices are simply and what they give you is shown clearly, just choose one and that advantage is there for the rest of the game.

THE GAME

The links on the bottom left are you movement around this RPG and you can use these to do all the options possible. (Although it can't get your money out of your bank!) All of these will have a full walkthrough and explanation, but below is the information on them.

Relevant Fields:
  • Base
  • Attack
  • Attack Log
  • Armory
  • Training
  • Mercenaries
  • Settings
Base
This is almost what you would call an "Overview" of your current information without any real options, you read this to check where you are, how you are doing, what you should look to do and such.

Relevant Fields:
  • Fortification
  • Siege Technology
  • Unit Production
  • Available Money
  • Military Action
  • Personnel
These will be explained when they come out in the other areas, or links that you can use.

Attack

You should know by now that you don't need the other person online to attack them, you can simply attack anyone you like, except yourself. To actually attack someone requires "Turns". These are a constant stream and you have no direct influence over them, nor does anyone else. Just work with what you have!

To attack someone just click on their name and a new screen will come up, containing some information on that person, though nothing technical or of real use. You can now either attack them or talk to them. By pressing attack another screen will appear asking you the amount of turns you want to spend on this attack, from 1 to 50, depending on how many turns you have and how many you want to use. It also contains the information on the units you have and your strengths in defence and most importantly attack. Once you have set the amount of attacks, then press the attack button and the game will do the rest. You will recieve a screen with text on it explaing the battle a little. The important part is at the bottom, see what damage you did them, and casualties you caused, these are rare, and then what damage you suffered and losses you got. Then it will say if you won or loss, and what minerals you gained if you won. You can't lose minerals from losing in an attack. The damage substained has effect on the strength of your weapons and armour and such, but more on that later.

You can continue to attack anyone as long as you have turns, and you have men standing! Remember to keep an eye on your strengths as thats the best indictator to whenever you might win or lose.

Attack Log

First of all, this isn't the place to log attacks of people against you in a log entry for people to view, it shows two things. People who have attacked you, and people you have attacked.

Anyone who has attacked you will have their names shown there as well as the battle lists shown, you can also view the battle text in the normal format by seeing the details.

The same applies to attacks you did, in case you wish to look at who you previously attacked and how it went. You can't add anything to these pages, thats all the options you have!

Armoury

These are the weapons you can use in battle and in defence; the Attack Weapons are used in attack, and the Defense Weapons are used in defence. The more expensive they are the more powerful add they give to your strength in either attack or defend. So basically the more expensive the more useful, nothing is given for a little less powerful and such, IE spells, those don't exist.

These "Weapons" are given to all possible units, so if you have 4 Gauss Rifle's and 8 men, four of them will have these Gauss Rifle in the attack while the others will go without, unless you have other weapons. Buf if you have only 3 men, then those three will have Gauss Rifle's but a spare will also exist, which isn't used. So try not to have more "Weapons" than you do men, at all times! This is the same for you Defencive Weapons.

Fortification

This is helpful for Defencive purposes, and adds to that field, it is a simple upgrade process with each upgrade costing twice the previous, it does have a limit and once reached you have the best Fortification possible. No other benefits other than in Defence.

Siege Technology

This is used in the attack feature, and adds to that field, it follows the same rules as Fortification and also has a limit.

Training

This is where you get your men from, starting them as untrained and choosing two possible versions, either Attacking Men or Defending Men.

If they are trained for one they cannot help in the other. So, having an force of 10 Trained Attackers and 0 Trained Defenders without any untrained men will mean that you have a very weak defence, which isn't useful when people attack you, and they will!

Remember you can leave them untrained, but it means they are not amazingly strong in either of the fields and less of use. Attack is useful for getting your money and such and so important to have lots in. Defence, the best idea is to have them really well armed, see the "Armour" for more details.

Personnel

This just provides a stat of all the units you have, and where they are in your forces.

Train Your Troops

As it said this allows you to train the untrained and move around your trained units. It requires you to have Untrained troops or previously Trained troops.
Untrained can either become Attack or Defend Trained and that adds to those groups and its strengths. So the more Attack men you have will increase your Attack Strength and same for Defence.

You can also move a Trained Attack man to be a Trained Defend man easily, and the other way round as well, these all cost money however, so you can only train and change people through the amount of money you have and the amount of units you have.

Upgrade Unit Production

You can upgrade the amount of units you get each turn, and this goes up like this.
1 per day, 2 per day, 3 per day, etc. Each upgrade costs double the previous, and again it has a limit. This is an important feature if you want a large army! Without upgrading this, you will only ever get a few units to train now and then rather than having many to train as is the case later in the game.

Mercenaries

Although much like the Training page this differs in that these men are simply a quick way to get troops into your army without waiting for them to appear as per normal. These do cost a bit though, and should only be used if you fear attack or want to perform one in a hurry and cannot wait. The three choices are an Attack, Defence and Untrained. The first two are set to these and the third is set to untrained. These can use weapons that you have, but that is it, you cannot change their groups.

Also if there are none to hire then you cannot get any, you can only have as many as there is in the amount. This rises and drops depending on the amount being recreated and bought.

Settings

This is more of an overview of the background to the workings of the game features, and what the webmaster has decided to do. You cannot change this, only view it. I won't explain them all because it will take to long.

Different Information

Cash

You need your cash in this game, and if you cannot read, the only way to get it is through the posting in these forums, or by attacking an opponent and stealing it from them, in the future with large amounts of money around this is the best way to get it, and far quicker than posting a lot. Remember also that you can have money taken away from you by Staff at the website, so don't spam the boards.

Attacking

Don't attack someone a lot more powerful than you, either if they have many units, or are far above you, this is done because they are much better than you, not because of the amount of cash they have. The likelihood of attacking would end up with you losing and either weapons becoming weakened or worse losing men. With big people they might attack you in repsonse to your attacking of them, ending with more losses and losing your cash, so be careful who you attack! They might cream you badly!

Think!

If you are good at Defence - Protoss, then you don't need as many defenders to be as effective as attacking and also that you should save your money now and then for better weapons and such.

This will be added onto, all new information will be put below, stating from who and what it is, they may be edited to fit this format. I hope this is of use to the users of this website. Please note i tried to make it as formal as possible! Did it work?

Turns

You should by now realise that you have no control at all over the turn's that you get, and that they slowly just add up over time. You can get huge amounts of turns, and since they can only be used in attack i'd thought i'd be nice and write something on that.

My experience of this game is that with more attacks comes more chance to do damage, kill, AND have the same done towards you. Since you can never fully tell what your opponent has a good idea is not to waste all your turns at once, especially if you have a good few stored up. If you have over 40 turns and have a target, (normally someone with a lot of minerals and below you), just use 5-10 turns in an attack and see how it goes, try simply mutliplying what you did by how many turns you have less.

This is useful in many ways; you can get the strength of his/her forces into your head, (like if you lose don't waste more attacking!), and also be able to see how much damage you could do. Remember that with more turns used in an attack you do take more minerals, but it isn't a mulitipling factor so don't try that approach, sometimes you will get loads other times almost none.

I hope this is of help to people wondering over how to use their turns, and how many, this way isn't fool proof, but is a useful system.

Be warned that if the first one fails and you give up, you've still attacked them and they might attack you back, so always be careful on the target.

[Edit (2)]

Your Weapons

Repair

If you have started to buy weapons, for either Attack or Defence you will notice that you have the number of weapons of that kind, the strength with current level and maximum, how much to repair each point, and its selling price.

The strength part is slowly reduced by battles, normally a little each time, but can be repaired quickly, using the repair part. Simply enter how much you went to repiar depending on the damage and how much it costs to repair a single point mulitplied by the points you repair it by, so therefore you Cash!

IE - PSI Blade 17/20 - I want them at Full Strength, its costs 10 Minerals for each point, and I have 34 Minerals in cash, so i put in 3 for the amount of repairs, or points, I want done and then click. This will deduct 30 Minerals from my Cash. I now have - PSI Blades 20/20 -

The importance of repair is if they reach 0/(Max) then they become useless and cannot be used at all, so you cannot have them for fighting, they become wasted cash.

Selling

This gives you a chance to sell what you have bought, normally at either half the price you bought it for, or less, it isn't a good deal, but if you need the cash is a useful feature. You can only sell as many as you have, and they are not effected in selling by the Repairs needed, (may not be true if at 0/(Max)).

Thank you, it took me a while to get the basic's when i used to play it, so i just remembered that. I didn't really add any tips of huge use, simply because i didn't have the time, but i will add some later if that is what people want.

Question: How long does it take to reset the "too many attacks on user" errors I keep getting...?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-04-20 at 10:02:08
I think it's after each day... Maybe... Or after some time.

Question: WTF are "untrained mercenaries" for? I know you can asign Untrained Soldiers to attack or deffence (as well as reasign), but I can't seem to do anything with mercs. Are they just... Like other units? Stronger than untrained soldiers?

No, you misunderstand the use of mercenaries, they are not better trained me, at least not in this game, they are simply just the same of your normal fighters, but you can buy them, instead of waiting for them to come around for you to train.

Most use them when they are rich and either fear attack soon or else want to perform a fast attack on someone and lack the man resources; especially if many have died and you have spare weapons.

Attack, just for attack and as powerful as Attack Trained soldiers.
Defend, just for defend and as powerful as Defend Trained soldiers.
Untrained, for both, but not the best in either, like Untrained soldiers.

Hope this has been of help to you.

Click "reset race" on the main page to do it manually, or wait 2 weeks to have it done automaticly.

Here's a question about mercenaries: Are they permanent, or do they go away after a while? I have seen no evidence in this thread saying that they disappear after a day or so (as they should, because mercenaries are usually only temporary in this kind of game), so that's why I'm asking this question.

There is somewhere in these forums that say it, I forgot so I am going to write it.

Make a Post, Thread or Poll = 68 minerals
If you attack someone with money and win you get a percentage of his/her money.

Basicly if you want money to get better stuff then you should post(NOT SPAM) and attck people with money, the more money the better, just make sure they don't got a better army.

Minerals are good for 2 things.

Glowy name and For getting better stuff and units and Army's.
