what is with this chinese piracy of harry potter ive also heard that they LIKE it so much a unnamed author in china made a fake harry potter book named harry potter and the something( no flaming i forgot name of it)
and so whats the deal with this...would like to hear opinions

I heard this too. Apparently, bootlegged copies were selling like hot cakes in China just hours after its official release.

Not the first time this has happened. Random person translates (often with errors, like translating "immortal" to "mortal" --- or the other way around, can't remember), gets book published ("illegal" is only a technicality for them tongue.gif) without contract with Rowling, makes pure profit. A twist though is that one translator didn't like the ending and changed his translation so the whole plot was changed. biggrin.gif
