About a month ago, I was presented with an interesting challenge, to make a tobacco pipe. My knowledge with pipes was limited to the workings of marijuana pipes so thats basically what I made. I took a nice heft piece of oak and hatcheted away to the rough form of a pipe and drilled out the bowl, breathing tube, and carbeurator. I then sanded it down, it turned out pretty damn cool looken, so I went ahead and baught a pouch of tobacco. Soon i became hooked (mentally, I don't think im addicted yet...). Well long story short, it's no wonder this has been practiced for centuries. The strange satisfaction of smoking a bowl of pipe tobacco comes in part from the heft buzz you get, plus how cool you look in the mirror. I'd recommend anyone smoking cigarrettes to switch to using pipes. If you do, make sure to take a gander at the resorces on the web describing how the art is done (it isn't easy, you have to work at it). But its REALLY fun. I'm not sure why I'm telling this to a bunch of middle/high schoolers but I just thought since im bored, buzzed, and waiting for my painting to dry that I would share this with you. Theres no better way to get cancer! (Were all going to die of something...) Happy buzzin

Thats so gross. . . yuck. Smoke is way up there with some of the worst spells ever. Like right next to rotting s**t mashed into the carpet.

Pipe smoke is different from just burning stuff... And believe me, I know the difference, as I have burned many many things in my life. I like fire...

actually im refering to tobacco smoke. I didn't want to say ciggarete smoke cause some one would be like "its a pipe" "im a crack addict" or whatever.

HAHA, I didn't expect those kind of responses... Pipe tobacco is much healthier than anything you could smoke, even if you tried to smoke me?. And oh yea, pipe tobacco smells REALLY good, tastes REALLY good, and looks REALLY cool. Also ive managed to spend a measly two dollars to last me two months (it ain't expensive). So don't bring out your bad bad bad or nasty eww gross stuff on me

No tabacco is "healthy" and its a disgusting habit anyway. If you wanna die young and painfully go ahead and smoke.

Makes it too bad smoking is addictive.

The bottom line is that yes, it is unhealthy. And yes the cool factor does impact it. But if your not worried too much about that, the actual habit of pipe smoking is one hell of a fun hobby. It takes skill to pack, light, and keep lit the bowl. Then you have the equipment you need to get and take care of. I made my pipe and use a skinny hex head as a cleaner and an old pen as a tamper. Recently I baught a new pouch and needless to say, my room smells like black cherries (ahh refreshingly nice). It has also drifted into the hallway and soon will make the whole floor smell nice (I live in a dorm). You don't do it because your addicted, you don't do it because the girls like it, you do it because it is satisfying, like map making. Smoking is only a small part of it, your actually not supposed to inhale it at all. So if you are going to smoke anything--cigarettes (this one is nasty, ive never even put one to my mouth), cigars (too expensive and not as fun), weed (illegal-need I say more? hehe)--SMOKE PIPE TOBACCO.

Well...Still might as well commit suicide beofre smoking.. Any how good job Cosmo for taking control of your life!
