Okay, this is a rough idea I had for a new map:
The terrain would have a big "+" shaped trench in the middle, surrounded by walls, and on the other sides of the walls would be more low terrain. Like this:

And in the trenches, the players will send a constant flow of units at each other, which will meet and blow each other up in the middle. The idea for this is that each player can only attack one other player at a time, and if an opponent gets units to the end of your trench you lose. So obviously if 2 players decide to kill one player, that player is in trouble.
I'm debating what to do with the corners, because I want some other factor that can turn the tides quickly, but not too quickly. I was thinking maybe having a laser tag like minigame going on in the corners, and each player would be defending a building that temporarily stops that player from making units in the trench if it's killed, bringing their enemies just a little bit closer to their doorstep. I also had the idea for making this a kind of arena of defense, where players build up a defense in the corners, and you can spend your kill money to add a hero or two into your stream of units.
