I've been thinking of making a Halo Snipers/Team Fortress like map for a long time but I couldn't find a way to make the map work. Now with these new triggers, I think it would be possible. Units like Marines can now have shields and with the new hp detection, the map will know when your unit is low in shields and automatically charge like in the actual game. I've already brainstormed a few of the weapons.

Plasma Rifle would be a Dragoon's attack. In the actual game, Plasma Rifles rip through shields and that should be the same in this starcraft map. Since all weapon types (normal, explosive, concusive) do 100% damage to shields, the Plasma Rifle will have a damage higher than human weapons. But since Dragoon's attack is explosive, it will do only 50% damage to regular hp.

All human weapons should do normal damage. (100%)

For weapons like Sniper Rifles, I'm sure that range and cool time can be changed with triggers. With the sniper rifle, it will have a very long cool time and a very far range but you have to manual click to attack.

Human weapons are less effective against shields, so a problem there. I would advise you just use triggers.

Mine won't be Halo-themed(though, I got the inspiration from an idea I thought of that would work quite well for a Halo map), but it will be pretty awesome if I finish it, and if I don't I'll make a demo-map which will show-off my 1337 ideas.

Only thing I can say is that the map would hard to make correct aestheticaly, and it'll probably be hard as Hell to balance.

No, I'm not making the map. I'm just posting this so that people can make this map for me because I'm too lazy.

EDIT: I'm not making the map anytime soon. Just wanted people to comment on my idea.

You also have to detect to see if a unit is being attacked or not. MC's sheild doesn't recharge unless he is not being shot. So you would have the problem of the sheild recharging while being shot.

I like the idea im just not sure if you would be able to balance all those units without just giving up.

Last month, I was making a Halo combat map. It was OK, but it's not really fun since I can never go onto battle.net (new patch is too big for me to dl, so I'm screwed). The last thing I managed to put in it was a Bomb Assault Styled mode in it.
