I played a Korean zerg on west, and actually won! O.O

He was very good mannered throughout the game, but didn't really speak english.

At several points, more than one thing is happening at once, so you will probably miss some of the stuff at first.

This is my first PvZ win against a decent player in a long time, though it happened a couple of days ago (suspended for no reason, see my Kame thread).

Dunno, because I was much better in this game. He wasn't that much better than you, that's for sure.

He should have ran his lings into your base instead of attacking your lots when he saw your ramp open, you should never leave your ramp open that early game. You build cannons when he had no lair tech, wasted money. He got lair ten minutes into the game... you could have taken his expo but you let him have free money. You got storm really late. You let him have free money at 6. HTs would have killed his hydras really quick for you, or at least reduced them to paper. Be more agressive, scout. PvZ is all about countering Z or being really aggressive. It doesn't go both ways. You went robo bay and no reavers, that was really disapointing considering he was going mass hydra. It was a 20 minute game and in the end neither of you really had much. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just work on those things and you'll win more PvZ.

1. In PvZ, it's usually impossible to scout their tech. You'll see many tosses lose because they don't have anything at their mineral line when mutas come. I built cannons in case he went muta, but they aren't wasted if he doesn't (they help against drops and lings). In our last match when I "cheatingly" went corsair, it's because I had to take a guess (I couldn't get into your main, and I got lucky that you went muta instead of hydra). This match, I took a more conservative choice. Also, it isn't like he can't switch tech later on.

2. If he had run his lings into my base, he would have reached my robes while they were still in a perfect line, which would have had the same result (all lings dead).

3. Taken his expo? I destroyed it once, raped it but left the hatch standing a second time, then at the end obviously broke destroyed it again.

4. Robo bay but no reavers? This is a lack of knowledge on your part. You always have to gety a robo PvZ, whetehr you get reavers or not. You need obs, man.

5. I did get storm late, but as soon as I got it I did a storm drop on his main.

In our game I was sucking hard (my scouting was bad, my map control was disgusting), that's no excuse =P I don't mean this to insult you and you may already know it but I'm just going to say it. Scout with probe, keep it alive for as long as you can, then scout with a zealot. Then swarm the map with obs so he can't get free money. If he had run the lings a few of your probes would have died, the way he did it, none did, and the economy was only slowed by the fact that for some odd reason you sent out probes.

I know you need obs, but he has mass hydra and you had already teched to robo, so why not build one other building instead of waiting to climb a comletly different tech tree?

I dunno, I guess I just expect Zerg to always have a Hive at the 20 minute mark. You might be right though, since every ZvP in the past while I've played the toss has done the same thing (lots of tech). Good luck in future matches.

PS: As a Zerg I consider it a victory if the toss prepares for something I have no intention of getting.
