Is that unbuildable terrain at the ramps? If it is you're screwing Terran over.

It's Moguls, they're buildable.

That means there is something terribly wrong with my map...

Very nice map. Now how about taking a break with symmetrical maps and try to make a non-symmetrical one smile.gif

Every good map is basically symmetrical in playing style. Otherwise it's unfair. No one is going to make your ****y map so you should do it yourself. You've made like 4 posts in this forum and they all tell us to make asymmetrical maps. Well guess what, punk? We know better than you and if we thought it was a good idea we'd do it. To me, Rush Hour is a symmetrical map too, if that gives you any idea what I'm talking about. Sorry for being harsh, but this needs to stop and I'll be damned if a moderator cares.

The point I've been trying to make psycho, is that so far no asymmetrical maps have been good. However, symetrical ones are gettin more and more balanced. This shows that we are getting a higher undertanding of what a balanced map is. Since no asymmetrical maps have been done well, someone who has better skill in making melee maps than me (I'll just make it unbalanced) could make the first well put together asymmetrical map.

This map does not look that symmetrical IMO. Each base and surrounding areas actually look pretty different from each other. The symmetry of this map would be very much like that of Gaia.

It's not "symmetrical" by definition. But, the bases and their places to build and way to go is the same; luckily, this is usually necessary for balancing.

As for the map itself, other then it being really weird on the top (the "weight" of the map seems to be dropping down), I think it's really nice. I can't find any really evil things except the occasional tank drop in a place where they can't get to to kill their peons. Which is located right between each 2 of the vespene natural.

I also saw the similarity between yours and gaia. personally i like gaia more, but hey, yours is pretty tight.

I forgot to tell you, on the bottom 2 bases, the highground nat, if terran put tanks there, they could attack incoming units easier than the top could, Definately fix that. Thats the biggest techinical error here. Also check and see if tanks can hit the isle expos from each base.

This is the best looking ice world map i've ever seen including pro maps. Good job on that.
