The graphics look awsome for it.

HF1's gameplay and interface were BREAKTHROUGH. Its the game that started all the first person shooters.

I'm excited, they probaly did something amazing again.

Since the game will require an EXTREMLY powerful machine to play (due to the completly 3D and super-detailled graphics), no, I'm not waiting for it. Most computers won't even be able to run the game to its full potential anyway.

My computer can run it.

You can get a pretty nice cheap computer if you build one yourself. get the parts off ebay, you should look into that. smile.gif

especially if you 'borrow' windows xp from someone rather then buy it. but you didn't hear that from me.

My comp sucks...So I'll be happy with Call of Duty and Halo 2.

Im glad i got the top of the line computer... All the money spent and time building it is sure paying off. My computer should be able to run HL2 on its max setting without feeling to much of a burden. Doom 3 on the other hand.. even the biggest systems will feel the burn of this games graphics.

But i cant wait to play HL2 to see those huge spider walkers that stab people with there feet hahaha

HL 2 and Doom 3 will be awesome rivals

Doom 3 has a more powerful, overall, graphics usage and requirement, while HL 2's got the much better physics engine.

since i was to lazy to see if there was another hl2 thread i didnt find this but ill post what i said in the old one again to recreate the discussion biggrin.gif

I dont remember if we had a topic about this or if it just was discussed in some other thread but what do you guys/girls/dogs/cats think about half-life2?
Have anyone seen that movie from e3 with the counter-strike source video in the end, it looks very very cool.

Have anyone played codename gordon(or whatever the name was)?
Its half-life in 2D and you can get it for free with steam.

I downloaded it...
I played it...
And the game is just so freakin cool. There are no words to describe the graphics [Animations are super sweet] sound [By far the best music l have ever listened to for a game [Other then final fantasy]] and gameplay make the game 10/10. If you want a free game [Dosnt ask for Cd-key] to help you from the transition of HL1 to HL2, this HL2 inspired will be your bridge to close the gap. This game is the equal of Ghost, providing the game with new dimensions, or in other words, 1 less of a dimension biggrin.gif.

Any way to get Codename: Gordon without Steam? I don't want them to take over my computer.

You'd have to be pretty immature to think steam can take over your computer. Kazaa takes over your computer with billions of adware and spybots. Steam is ad-less, and is free. All you need to do is use steam to get Codename: Gordon [Download it] then have it 'Prepared' by steam [No Cd-key required] and play it. There is no other way to get C:G withought steam, unless someone finds a way to do that, you'll have to wait a while.

noo radeon pwns nvidia.. atleast my radeon 9800pro pwns..

oh and steam pwns, only thing thats no good is that it sometimes wont connect for me :/

Yes, Steam is totally ad-less and free. Unless you account for the fact that to sign up you are required to give them an active email account. They can then sell that information to anybody. Oh, and there's the fact that they can track which games you play and sell that information to advertisers as well. I'm pretty sure I can also find Codename: Gordon with Bittorrent and enable it with a crack from GameCopyWorld without the risk of receiving all those nasty advertisement emails. So I'll stay away from Steam, thank you very much.

Well maybe so but nVidia didn't have any drivers to support my mobo sad.gif . nVidia is more windows friendly and I only run linux systems. I really can't stand nVidia and I don't know why you say that the Radeon is crappy because it has won the ut benchmark for the past several months.
