Hey does anyone here know about that new planet that they found? All I've heard is that it is as small as pluto.

WE JUST DID THIS IN SCIENCE TODAY YOU IDIOT...

They just called it a "new planet" cuz it was round. The planet's monstly gaz, is ultra-cold, and barely fits in the category. It's a big chunk of ice.

I'm looking foward to intergalactic-trading, not new ice cubes.

So according to SP Pluto isn't a planet because that's also a big chunk of ice. tongue.gif I guess Jupiter isn't either. Screw Neptune and Uranua as well... No use for those ga-balls. tongue.gif

I also said it was HARDLY the size of a planet. If I remember well; a planet gotta have 1000something diameters to get one, and the new one is hardly/not fitting in there; but it's close (if it isn't)

Pluto clearly have the requirements, and so does Jupiter and Uranus. Not like the Nasa would start classificating planets by everything they'd find :/

I dunno about you but id like to try cooling my drink with ice cudes from other planets! haha But Ive never heard of the new planet.. but then again im not taking sciences classes nor do i read the news.

I think that it would be cool to use ice from other planets to cool my drinks.

I don't knoiw much about chemistry, astronomy, or anything related...
but wouldn't the ice be kind of, uhh, poisonous? Or toxic? Or caustic?
Or in any-way containing the ability to cause you ill effects in ways that "Earth Ice" would be unable to do if merely extracted from somewhere?
Say, Antarctica?

If the ice is pure, it's going to be made of the same H2O molecules no matter where you get it from.

But if it have extraterrestrial poop...

Gah, planets are discovered all the time. They're mostly huge gas giants among other stars. And they've been discovered for years. But, since most of them are gas giants, it would be hard for us to live on. And the gravity would be too much to get really close to.

And do we really know that there's really a planet there? Not until we send a probe, which is pratically impossible from the technology that we have now.

On another note, there so more weird planets. There's planets that have no sun that are being discovered (it's a planet since it just escaped it's own sun's gravity). It's going to float alone in space. Wouldn't want to be living on a planet like that.

Of course, what if we find planet in other places? Until we have access to them, it's pointless. Might as well stick with the nine that we have now. Until we colonize a few of them, other planet in other stars won't be that much use.

However, if we find some space faring race lands in the middle of the US, do you know what would happen? The race would be detained by the FBI, sent to the "Department of Agriculture's Animal Disease Center" where it would be, er, tested in a Biosafety Level 4 facility. The spacecraft would be taken by the Department of Energy Nuclear Emergency Search Team to New Mexico to be tested as well. Not exactly a great welcoming committee wouldn't you say? Maybe that's why they don't show up in Washinton, but at remote areas, because they know how we would treat them.

from what I heard, it is farther than pluto, and it is almost the same size as the moon.... but I am not sure if I heard it right....

I'm not sure that what I heard was true too. My science teacher told me about it and all she said was that it was really small.

Planets and space are cool, and I am not a nerd.

You can go bring that additude back to the jocks who work at fast food places.

Ohhhhh....syrup!
I'm sorry, I was possessed.

Anyway, the planet's called Sedna.
