Okay, I keep having a problem with my mouse (computer mouse)...
It keeps like moving on its own to the top or the bottom of the screen and these wacky places or like sometimes move on its own. Yes, it uses the red laser thingy... Anybody know how to fix this?

You should set mouse traps. It worked for me.

Just kidding. Sounds like your mouse is broken or dirty (if its a ball mouse). Open up the place where the ball is, take the ball out, and clean up the little wheels you see inside. For obvious reasons, don't use anything wet tongue.gif

Try a friends, see if that works. In that case, you may need a new mouse.

Mouses, They never rly can be trusted. The little clean plastic than the laser goes thought might be dirty or if you move the mouse to a different surface, something that might reflect the laser, might be that it to.

I've experienced the 'jumping cursor' problem with trackpads in warm weather, but never with a laser mouse. Try cleaning the lens - I just checked mine and there's all sorts of crap on it.

I got a Logitech MX518 yesterday. It freaking rocks. But I have no need for 1600 dpi on my 1280x1024 monitor. If I like twitch it it goes across the screen, so I leave it on a respectable 800 dpi.

This happened to me when I never used a mousepad.. Now I do.. it doesn't do it anymore..well, not often.

I remember in unreal tournament 2004, I would spin like 400rotations per second because my mouse moved somewhere incredibly fast.. Urgh

Damn, I shouild've put that part in caps lol

Edit: Also, ball mouses can't move on their own. Even if I keep my arm still, the cursor moves on its own... I guess it's my mousepad...

I've experienced this with a laser mouse, it was caused by patterns on the mousepad 'confusing' the optic censor. You should try using a solid color mouse pad, or just trow down a piece of paper, and use that as a ghetto-pad.

Here's what I did:

Step 1: Make a nice little picture in photoshop with a black BG simply saying "Mouse Pad".
Step 2: Take it to one of those palces that make images into mouse pads for like 10 bucks.
Step 3: Due to there being no eratic colors or patterns, the optical mouse won't go nucking futs!

I had a crappy laser mouse, and the bottom started getting all.... crappy. (Scratched and dirty and yada) So after so long of it spazzing out, and stop functioning completely, we got a new mouse. A good laser mouse...
