If you define somthing indefinable, you are thus defining it.
To define is to describe, to indefineable is to somthing that can not be described.
So indefinable so have a different meaning or shouldn't be a word.

Okay so what if you wanted to talk about something that is indefinable? How would you refer to it.

I believe that something that is indefinable is something that can't be defined other than with the word indefinable.

Dictionary.com's definition
I like this part of the definition:
QUOTE
indefinable

adj 1: not capable of being precisely or readily described; not easily put into words; "an indefinable feeling of terror"; "an abstract concept that seems indefinable" [syn: undefinable] 2: defying expression or description; "indefinable yearnings"; "indescribable beauty"; "ineffable ecstasy"; "inexpressible anguish"; "unspeakable happiness"; "unutterable contempt"; "a thing of untellable splendor" [syn: indescribable, ineffable, unspeakable, untellable, unutterable]

When something is undefined, it's usually because it doesn't exist.

This is similar to the one-word oxymoron "indescribable".

Do you know what the philosophy behind Zen is? It'd make more sense if you did. tongue.gif

Anyways, how I interpret zen...

Its extreme meditation to come up with an answer for nothing. Its an individual's journey; Zen literally is nothing and everything all at once. If you look at a Zen painting you do not just see ink swashes, you see that person and all they believe and do not believe in the world.

My take on Zen: Nothing is something, because nothing is something that can defined, which is again something, and nothing is also something, because it is a state of being, like nothingness.

Line from rampage world tour (Where you go around demolishing cities and eating people):
Broaden your Horizons, you can diet when you get home.

Maybe Ihatett should listen to that, the broaden your horizons part.
Disrregard the stuff after the comma for discussion. (GOT THAT IHatett? I've said it doesn't pertain.)

When you say someting is indefinable, you're basically implying that it can ONLY be defined as indefinable. That's it. Think of it as slang. We say stuff like this all the time, just go watch george carlin. He'll show you a lot more of this kinda stuff.

Undefinable: Me. And God. Which is the samething. But that's ok.
