Staredit Network -> Miscellaneous -> Starcraft Fads

An old wives tale I've heard is about how fads for clothes go in a circle every couple decades. I was looking at the game list on US West, and saw that someone was hosting the "Burrow a siege tank" game! I thought we got over that!

So basically, do you guys notice that every so often (weeks or months) an old random game pops up from yesteryear? Is there a circle of "games" in Starcraft as there is for clothes in real life? Hopefully not. (>.<)

I want your responses! tongue.gif

I really miss the old games like Crash RPG, Archon Tag, Special Forces maps, Test of survival (non rigged, I hate all these rigged maps now adays), Protect the Queen, Protect Slim Shady-Its on this site but its a crappy version with wav, (THAT MAP OWNED, It actually had the part of the song "Will the real slim shady please stand up")and I actually used to play some zergling bloods too.. but they are all.. gone.. They used to be hosted ALOT.

Sorry for saying to the map makers, but I truly hate all of this 'Walk through-invisible' bunker crap, the overlapping, the gay'd wireframes, pictures in minimaps, etc.

Yeah, Special Forces by Panzer Kavalier was the best of all those Special Forces maps. But Crash RPG sucks, muhahah

on Europe most frequent maps are:
HGMA (the noobs still loose on this!)
Sunken 6 way / 2005 / 2003(rare, but nice) / even more rigged versions of 2005
New sunken variations
Battlecraft
Cat n Mouse (hoho my area)
Random madness game
Random Zone control

Huh? I'm not asking for the most popular maps; I'm asking if there is a "rotation" of maps, such as seeing old maps popping up every couple weeks or months or so. I was quite annoyed finding the "burrow a siege tank" after we already solved that dilemma.

It's sorta like how Starmanjr.'s Infinite Shift on US West pops up for a couple days then is non-existant for a week or two. Is this because maps rotate like fads? confused.gif

Right they're both so different and unique. You camp the heal spot untill you have an overpowered hero with tons of upgrades and go up against enemy hero's with imbalanced attack vs armor. Oh but Special Forces is better! You can buy more guys with the same overpowered attack and armor!

Lol Chu.
Yeah I've always hated SF and Crash-style RPG's.

Don't forget open RPG's:

You buy several units camp at the spawn points, and build a huge force of maxed-out 3-species units to attack a vastly underpowered enemy.

I think people on Battle.net are getting smarter and going back to the days when maps were fun, and not the cliched, repeated garbage they're fast becomming.
