kay, I'm finally programming v5 once again.
I've been working away on the DLDB. Recently as you may know, I put a yoshi beside my name. People want an icon unique to them as well beside them.
So I say, we could bring back the miniavatar feature that we once had, but I had to kill due to poor programming which I couldn't fix at the time. Now we can make it come back.
Miniavatars will have a limit of lets say, 14x14.
It will show up next to your name whereever possible, with some exceptions.

Yes. It would all be hosted here (you wouldn't have a choice on the matter) and I still have to decide a max file size... maybe 3kb or something.

Please disable them in topic view. Or at least have an option to turn them off globally.

We'll have it as a disablable option on a per user basis, of course. I was thinking 4 options for it:
- On.
- Only Content areas (topics, tutorials, dldb).
- Excluding Content areas (only on forum index, online list, etc).
- Off.

You are working on senv5 again? Interesting.
As for this idea, I personally am against it. 14x14 is bigger then normal font, and will distort any line of text it is on, even if it's a single line or just multiple lines of text. Remember how you were against bigger smilies because of the text distortation? This may very well be 10x worse.
Chu's "is .gif's allowed" only makes me aware of the fact some users will be posting animations and other annoying crap. It's doomed to be a mess.
Another fact is we have avatars, signatures, post backgrounds...
This is getting to be too much.

Yeah, perhaps a little much. Besides you can't put much other than a Yoshi with only 196px to deal with.

Polls are rather useless for something like that, considering, yoshi has already taunted them with his mini avatar...
