Internet Explorer 7 is now in beta testing.
Supposedly it's going to be better.
What CNN has to say about it.

Does anyone know if it comes with the Vista beta?

Somehow, IE7 is still going to suck. Is it customizable? Not likely. The popup blocker is not near as strong as firefox's. I have a free banner ad blocker (extention: adblock). IE7 will still most likely be slow like a donkey and its features will be primative, underdeveloped, and not customizable. I'd be VERY surprised if it were any other way.

Hopefully, with windows Vista, they will give us the feature to remove internet explorer from the installation of windows. Instead of hiding the icons.

I just did my "reasearch". Trust me, no ones going to be upgrading (or downgrading in this case) anytime soon.

Okay, I'm going to sum it up for you: Tabbed browsing is HORRIBLE. There are big pictures of "locks" so the stupid computer user can think they're protected by huge images. The browser crashes extremely frequently, and is still subject to old problems (ever minimize IE and maximize it again, and notice that you can see your wall paper instead of whatever website you were previously at?

They're trying to make improvements to INTERNET EXPLORER. Its still INTERNET EXPLORER.

Yoshi, how come when I read what you are typing, it sounds like you're talking REALLY FAST?

Uh... And I would never switch back to IE, maaayyybe back to Safari.(Its faster and blocks ads better, but it still messes up bad coding...)

IE 7 = spyware:

QUOTE
When IE 7 encounters an unfamiliar site, it gives users the option of passing that address to Microsoft to check against a database of known phishing sites. When there's a match, IE 7 takes you to a "red" warning page.

Even when there isn't a match, IE 7 will display a pop-up "yellow" warning when it sees telltale signs of phishing.

Lol.

QUOTE(CNN)
The early version of IE 7, called Beta 1, was released largely for software developers to test for compatibility, so it lacks many planned features. More will come in Beta 2, expected later this year.

It's called Beta, not fully done yet. wink.gif

You got me there. From VC++ Beta 1 to 2 it seemed to get worse :/

But still, I'd rather use IE 6 or 7 then FireFox.

For all you lost sould still using IE

And that's not?

But I do have reasons.
1.) It doesn't let me view a bunch of sites, or redirects me to other language versions of it (Not just one, it switchs between them everytime I go).
2.) It's insanely slow. I can't stand it, IE works alot better on my comp.
3.) I don't like having to install all those plugins and crap.
4.) There are some CSS things that don't work with it, (like "word-wrap: break-all"). I design templates on the side, and I use that alot.
5.) Tabbed Browsing sucks. We have a nice thing called a toolbar at the bottom of the screen, and if it cascades it's exactly the same (Which I hate.)

There's more, but I'd have to use it again to remember them, and I don't want to.

I liked notepad.

But I made an identical version with python, probably using 90 times less lines too.

Yoshi, that link is a joke.

Seriously. Who is dumb enough to compare the best browser ever made to some crappy program?

If thats true I wont be getting Vista. Everyone is saying it's the slowest OS Microsoft has based off the beta.

So far this month:
66.9 % of hits are from IE users.
26.9 % of hits are from firefox users. Thats more than double of the market share currently on the internet for firefox.

I'd like to congraduate those firefox users happy.gif
