Report, edit, etc...Posted by LegacyWeapon on 2005-08-16 at 19:18:06
Strings coding has been rewritten so now it should work with strings flawlessly (I've tested on some of the maps that people gave me).

Protection levels have been upgraded. Now I'm absolutely sure that anyone who would like to unprotect your map will need a program to do so.

EUD actions and the new EAS actions were removed from uBeR@TiOn v2.0.0.8 due to SENs new policies. EUD conditions shall still exist due to their harmlessness but Mac users will still crash when EUD conditions are used. Blizzard did NOT patch EUD conditions so you do NOT need EUDEnabler to run them.

I would like to thank Deathknight for helping with the Trigger Manager data files. I could not have done them without him.

Download!

EDIT: Fixed map inflation problem.

what are those EAS?? i know it is Extended Alliance Status but what do they do?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-08-16 at 19:38:11
Extended Alliance Status, which will not be supported by Staredit Network. It was the backup for EUD in case Blizzard patched it(which they did).

Great work. This'll definitely be useful.

Yes, EUD conditions are acceptable.

Make sure you still include a mac warning if you use it though.

We wil probably need a EUDEnabler warning too, if anyone wishes to use it for a EUD map that most people won't make.

EUD conditions do not require EUDEnabler.

Blizzard never patched them.

...as opposed to before, when you could do it by hand?

I realize that you've upgraded the protection, but did you honestly think anybody would attempt to inflate the strings manually? Or fix the signed values? Or re-organize the sections?

Just a little nitpick at the announcement ;p

Im a little confused about this.

So EUD still work, and the patch had nothing to do with them?

If thats true then why the hell are people getting upset about it...

Okay and... you said EUD's would stay due to their harmlessness, So then why doesn't SEN support it?

Heh well someone from China emailed me about how uberation was easier to unprotect than proedit. In one step of the process, they used SCMDraft1. I believe they will not be able to reach that step any longer without a new program to aid them.

Well I guess you are right, it hardly ever able to be unprotected by hand.

Have you fixed the map corrupting bug yet?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by LegacyWeapon on 2005-08-16 at 23:11:52
I don't know which one you are talking about...

Next time anyone has a bug, I need to see the map that it occurs in.

EUD conditions still work, the patch made EUD actions not work, and he said EUD conditions were harmless.

EUD conditions just read stuff not in normal conditions but don't modify memory like EUD actions, right?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-08-17 at 09:06:25
Right.

syphon8, the treat is getting private versions of data.mpq which included the EUD and EAS actions.
