Staredit Network -> Miscellaneous -> The Time Splitter War
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Infested-Jerk on 2005-08-17 at 18:51:44
I was bored, sitting at bed at midnight last night unable to sleep, so I thought of some videogames I had played earlier.
One, in particular, TimeSplitters 2, by some company I can't remember right now, is quite good.

In it, this race of aliens called Time Splitters find out how to mess around with time, and they decided to mess up Earth's history, from the Siberian Dam, to the Aztec Jungles, and all the way to the future space station.
Well, you get to hurtle through time gathering these crystals that power whatever the splitters use to time travel. Eventualy, you defeat them.
Some of your might have heard of teh sequel, Time Splitters: Future Perfect, but for this game, the time period is bewteen the second and third game's timelines. (Fractured as they are.)
the last level in TS2 takes place either 2807 or 2087, but for all purposes, we'll use 2807, it's now 2827. twenty years later, and the splitters have returned. Due to their last attack, technology suffered, and only stolen splitter weapons have been used lately, but older wepons remain. Now that earth knew the splitter threat, from the moment they came back, the human race actualy united to defeat their commmon foe.

So here's the fun part, soldier, enough of the kiddie lessons. You've been enroled in Officer school, and that puts you up for a squad leader position. In our army we follow the chain of command, listed here:
(Please correct any glaring errors)
Commander
Force Leader
division Leader (600- 1500)
platoon Leader (300)
batalion Leader (60)
squad Leader (20)
a squad is made of 10-20 people, amd a btalion is three squads, then five batalions for a platoon. A division is anywhere from 2-5 Batallions. A force commands all kinds of thinsg below him. A commander commands the Force Leaders.

Anyways, for the actual game rules:

You have a spot in the chain of command. You must follow orders from your supierors and hopefully kill the splitter threat.

You start with a SBP90 Machine Gun or a sniper rifle.
Officers can also carry a SciFi handgun sidearm.

You are considered to have enough strength to force open doors, lift objects up to 100 pounds without help and still be able to walk.

Weapons, armor and the like may be taken from enemies.

For weapons, most weapons seem laughable compared to todays, but realize the splitters destroyed many wepons when the tried to take earth the second time.
Handguns: (One maked with [d] before the name can be dual wielded)
[d]Luger Pistol:
Can be silenced, and is a standard handgun from the early 1920's outdated for sure, but is quiet, and accurate. Against a splitter, it will take 4-5 shots to the torso to take one out. 8 shots per clip.

[d]Garret Revolver:
Stronger and louder than the Luger. Very distincive sound
Same ammo as luger
[d] Silenced Pistols
pretty much the same as the lugers, but slightly more accurate and quiet. Holds 8 shots per clip.

Scifi HandGun:
This wepons fires three second bursts of lasers that bounce off of obstacles, but not human flesh. Holds 30 shots per clip.

Shotguns:

[D] Shotgun:
Fires a scatter, is not a good long range weapon. Bouble Barreled.

Tactical twelve Gauge Shotgun:
uses same ammo as shotgun, is more powerful, and holds a 8 shot clip. Is horrednously slow to reload.
Secondary Fire: Double Shot

AutoMatics:

[d]Soviet Rifle (AK-47):
Automatic Rifle, has 30 shot clip. Has attached grenade launcher for very short distances.
Secondary Function:
Granade that travels a max of 20 feet ahead, explodes three seconds after being shot.

[d]SPB90:
Fires a very fast spray of bullets. Has a viewing screen on backs that allow for good zoom. Holds 90 Bullets per clip.

Plasma AutoFire:
Fires Plasma bullets at a constant rate. Prone to overheating.
No reload.
Secondary fire: Plasma greandes that stick to surfaces and detonate causing damage. Affects friend and foe alike.

[d] Tommy gun:
The 1930 staple, the tommy gun holds 30 bullets per clip and is a very reliable gun. SPB90 shoots faster.

Oddball:

Electotool:
Fires a stream of electrical energy. Stuns enemies. Holds 60 seconds worth of fire.
No required Reload.

Flamethrower:
fires a short range gush of flames, holds 60 seconds worth of flames. Dangerous to friend and foe.

Laser Gun:
Charge up a shot and release. Nuff said
