- What is Outpost 2?

Outpost 2 is a RTS game by Sierra Entertainment. It puts you into command of either Eden or Plymouth colony, the last remaining members of the human race. Each colony has a fairly similar techtree, but they do have unique techs that are varied enough to make a big difference.

Outpost 2 takes place on many different levels. On one level, there's the civillian colony running level. You have to keep your colonist's morale up (lower morale = more colonist deaths, slower production, etc.). You can tend to their needs by building Residences, Medical Centers, etc.

Then there's the military level. Combat (which takes place using robot tanks, defensive structures, EMP missiles, even self-destructing civillian vehicles ), is very fierce. Each colony has 5 unique weapons systems, as well as 2 weapons available to both colonies which can be mounted on 3 chassis. They also have support vehicles like the Plymouth Spider, which can reprogram enemy vehicles.

OP2 has different multiplayer modes, such as Space Race, Last One Standing (melee), Midas, Land Rush and more.

I reccomend it, especially since it's free now. (The company went out of buisness, and destroyed the source code. It's available for free DL now.)

Since the company died, their internet servers died with them. So you have to use Hamachi to play (on the OPU servers).

But I will only add you to aim. The msn is more off limits and I specifically made this aim so if lots of people start bugging me I'll just stop using it

BTW: What are Satilights for?

You use the LAN thing. Thats what we use because we couldn't get our routers working either. Using it is a requirement since we're using it too.


Different things. You can launch an EDWARD satilight, which shows you all the ore on the map an its values (even enemy), you can launch solar power satilights and build arrays, which is a much more stable and better power source then tokamaks, if you're plymoth, you can launch EMP missiles and disable a few buildings or units anywhere on the map (as shown in the example screen shots, I was owning Voyager with 3 Simutainous starports launching 3 missiles at once). Lastly, you can build a starship. You shouldn't do that unless you're playing space race, because it will take most of your people away and it takes a crapload of resources to make, with no actual point.

I cant use mIRC or that other chat room. And how do I connect? I have the Hamachi downloaded, but when I follw the instructions it doesn't let me connect <_<

I downloaded and played this, it just doesn't seem as fun as RA1 did...

What OS do you use? Hamachi only works for Windows 2000 and Windows XP. However, you can still play Direct IP games...
