I was thinking of possibly trying to make a FFTA game. Where there are 2 teams, each a clan, and you can choose your one characters class using beacons+civs, same with items, and you can upgrade your class using beacons as well.

I was wondering if there was a guide for making RPGs (like leveling up, items, gold etc) Because to be honest, im a complete n00b.

lol dude i was being nice, saying to make blitzball cause its never been done before, ff games are old.....try something new, not sometihng thats been done before, u really have to chill man

blitzball is FF10, this is the GBA game that came out a few years ago. Your suggestion should be in the ideas board, or at least in its own thread

anyways, I am thinking of perhaps 3v3, with 1 nuetral comp, and 1 judge

judge could use beacons to determin the laws.

ermmm starcraft?

It would be based off the the game final fantasy tactics advance, which was a strategy game on the GBA, and was pretty popular. I personally loved it, and didn't notice any FFTA game out there.

exactly, tactics wasnt a traditional FF game.

It was only really called FF for:

moogles, items, and in the original final fantasy tactics you could unlock cloud.

Don't worry, I'll offer some actual advice.

You probably need a grid-based system for this. There was someone trying to make a map with a grid system before, if I find that map or the person who was working on it I'll post it for you.

As for guides, it's best to just play a bunch of Starcraft RPGs first.
RPG Archive

That's the RPG archive thread on Warboards. Check it out for some of the best RPGs to date. Play as many of them as you can, and if possible, look at the maps in an editor to get some ideas. (Don't steal anything from them of course

)

You can also ask questions there and contact some of the map makers for advice. Really though, the best way to learn is by doing, play some RPGs first and see what kind of systems they use before starting your own.

There's been a really good Final Fantasy map that was made. You should take a look at that for ideas. It's one of CheeZe's favorite maps

If that's what I think it is, I think I remember it.
CheeZe hired me with minerals to do it[the ai], but I never got around to it for various reasons...

That is only the count of posts that are actually considered "posts" to get minerals, which requires a certain amount of text. In reality you have made more posts.

I think things like posts in null forum contribute too.
