So, do you think that having a mental health problem (ADD to Bi Polar and everything in between) is a probable reason for being a jerk around people? Please keep in mine medicine and their roll they play in our society.

My step-brother has ADHD, and, honestly, with his medication, he's not that bad. This is stereotypical.
Without his medication he angers easily. That's about it.

i think mental health problems are being abused and are often used as an excuse to get away with things "mentally heathy" ppl would not

I voted for "Having a mental health problem is not an excuse for being a jerk."

Too many people are using this lame excuse when they really don't have mental health problems.

If you have a problem, you damn well better be getting help on it, and thus you should be avoiding being a jerk with that help. If you don't have a problem, it's still no excuse to be a jerk. If you don't know if you have a problem but think you do, try to figure it out first (if you're leaning towards you do, see a psychiatrist, otherwise, don't claim you do)...

If someone has a problem, they should get medication or therapy for it. If they're not willing to try, they have no excuse for being an ass.

I don't know, I voted for isn't, they don't know what they're doing.

But I just LOVE making fun of mental kids in gym class.

A midget once threw a basket ball and hit this girls face, and the girl grabbed the midgets hand and slid him to the other side of the gym.. the midget kid started to cry. Everyone was watching, and I was like getting ready to burst out and laugh lmfao.gif

OH. I just realized, you may not be talking about mental disabilities..

Imagine me without meds. I'd be unbearable. Meds are a good thing. I'm pretty much a jerk all the time, even when I'm wacked out on happy sauce.

Why would it be an excuse?

If you have a mental health problem that makes you a jerk, don't go around people. No exceuse.

Yes, we'll isolate all the people who have problems that cause them to be jerks! Top marks! I really think it's the type of mental problem, which determines it.

Did you guys know that the word "insane" is a legal term, that means "not responsible for your actions"? Unless someone is categorized as insane by a licensed psychiatric medical examiner, they must be held responsible for their actions, at least from a legal standpoint. But when it comes down to the social aspect of mental illness (a term that I feel is is far overused), in my opinion there's no excuse for being a jerk in any situation, no matter what the circumstances.

It depends to me if they are schizo then they somewhat have an excuse; especially the ones with multiple voices crazy.gif .
