I had a 3 bar mine throughout the entire game, and I never needed another one. At one point I was pumping out weapons like no tommorow with 2 vechfacs at the same time. I was really rich.

Lol, I'm wandering around at the beginning, looking for a good spot with natural defenses... I think that the arctic area is good, and then I survey the mine. 1 bar. 
Its too late to keep moving, I think, I'd lose more time + resources that way... I probably should have kept on going. 
EDIT: What I mean by the Supernova Lynx thing, here's an explanation... Supernova Lynx are INSANELY powerful vehicles (think around the devastation of a Nuke in SC... except capable of killing any vehicle or structure in one hit, massive splash.). It blew up some of Yoshi's forces... as well as a good chunk of my colony.
