What Ultimo said. Kckkryptonite unintentionally started a craze which resulted in like 500 seperate bounds (and still coming) which even has it's own downloads category here.
Some people may hate bounds, but Kckkryptonite had no way of knowing this would happen. Back then, no one heard of a bound, and everyone loved it.

dude they were never called bounds! as far as i can remember the first ever like bound was called "Obstacle Course"

Snowbound was the first bound map with the name bound in it.
But Obstacle course made by Heroic_SCV i believe was truly the first bound map. But it wasn't really officially a bound map.

I hate them because they're all the same blam over and over again. People never take the time to add some variety to their bounds. They just set up the explosions differently - thats all.

Yes, there were "obstacle course" maps, but Kckkryptonite was the one who coined the name "Bound."

There was also a "Path of the Chosen" obstacle course type map in space terrain in which you were a marine. It came out before Snow Bound.
I might add though Yoshi, I'm guessing there's way more than a measly 500 bounds.
Bounds originally started as obstacle courses, now people are just explosion crazy like freakin' that guy who blew up that place. If you consider the current ideal bound an obstacle course you smokin' crack african friend.

Interesting comment...
Bounds can be allright for a quick fix of mindless fun.
Making them is a pain in the ass because they can often suffer from order of operatins problems. Once you've made one though, you can make an infinite many more. Then you have to differentiate between the bounds that were made noobs and the bounds that weren't.
